1. Good News: Where the Intel is Good
- "The Government Accountability Office reported Tuesday (21JUL)
that the VA has cut improper payments in its private-sector
Community Care program by 98 percent in five years — from $7.5
billion down to $608 million — even as spending on that care nearly
tripled to $25 billion. As Military Times reported, the department
fixed the payment and eligibility problems that dogged the program
after its 2018 launch. That is real stewardship of tax dollars, and
it is worth saying plainly." [The Minuteman Dispatch].
- A dog cruelty operation in Wisconsin was recently shut down by
the Trump administration's newly formed Animal Cruelty Task Force.
Evan Nader of Big Dog Ranch Rescue said, “No one’s done more for dog
welfare than the Trump administration." Note to Mr. Nader: That is
also true for cat welfare, illegal aliens from Haiti are no longer
barbecuing house cats in Ohio and eating them.
- Following George Floyd's suicide, America-hating whackos called
for defunding the police as if the cops were somehow responsible for
Floyd's simultaneous OD of both meth and fentanyl. They suppressed
the autopsy report and body cam footage that showed what actually
happened. The funny thing is, people go into law enforcement mostly
to "protect and serve". That's their motivation for enduring a high
stress job that will never make them rich. Some of the stress
involves things like responding to a 911 call only to see an illegal
alien from Haiti chewing cat meat while she's got little Fluffy from
down the street roasting on a spit. Thanks to Tom Homan and others
who are now enforcing our border policy, that won't happen again.
Home-grown animal abusers with operations like the one in Wisconsin
also make "tough guy" cops break down in tears and the Trump
administration has given them more tools to bring these psychos to
justice.
- People with TDS don't even consider how much the Trump
administration has done (and continues to do) to stop the
aforementioned animal cruelty operations or the human trafficking
operations. During Trump's first term, special teams were
discovering cell after cell of missing teens held in captivity. It
might be 4 here and 6 there, as these are widely distributed. In one
case in Ohio, there were 60 (or maybe it was 65) in one location.
But interrupting even one of these causes major problems for that
paticular slave trade. After the coup, these efforts were stopped
and then not resumed until Liberation Day. It is no leap of logic to
determine that the "end users" are the same people who fund the
Communist Party (aka, "Democrat Party"). ***Spread this
information***
- More good news for the nation's housecats! From The American
Freedom Report, 27JUL:
"Immigration and Customs Enforcement is preparing a major operation
to locate and arrest Haitian nationals whose Temporary Protected
Status is expiring, with the expanded push expected to begin as soon
as this week. The Supreme Court's certified judgment clearing the
administration to end TPS for more than 300,000 Haitians was set to
reach the lower courts Monday. Federal sources say the agency will
expedite deportations, with Springfield, Ohio, among the locations
under focus. DHS moved to end TPS for over 500,000 Haitians last
summer, but the matter stayed tied up in litigation until last
month's high-court ruling removed the final obstacle."
- Contrary to communist idiot-ology, capitalism works. "The United
States added 441,078 new millionaires last year, more than 1,200
every day, according to global wealth data. There are now 23.6
million American millionaires, more than two of every five
worldwide." [The Flyover]
- Finally! President Trump came right out and said that John
Thune's position as Senate Majority Leader would be in jeopardy if
he didn't secure passage of the SAVE Act. This would be true in
multiple ways, including a communist-retake of the Senate majority,
Trump's refusal to endorse him, or Republican senators selecting
someone else to replace him (a sort of coup). Thune wants to avoid
confrontation, even though engaging in confrontation is a core part
of being a leader. Thune does not deserve the position as Senate
Majority Leader because he is not a leader.

The Fed
The Federal Reserve declined to reduce the interest rate, for the
fifth time in a row. This was wrong, and here's why:
The Fed has to manage the federal spending deficit, that is pretty
much its job. It has two tools:
- Sell the debt via bonds. The people who buy bonds are willing to
take a guaranteed loss of wealth for the security of not losing the
whole nut. Because bonds are a loaned (not owned) asset, they always
underperform inflation over time. The trick is the bonds have to be
attractive enough for these people to buy them. They never buy
enough to cover the whole deficit, which means the Fed has to "print
money" to cover the difference. The fewer bonds they sell, the more
money they have to create out of thin air; this is the only cause of
inflation.
- Manage the cost of capital. The higher the cost of capital, the
costlier it is for businesses to service debt. And the less likely
they are to borrow to invest--and thus create wealth. If the Prime
Rate went to, say, 20% then business investment would stop and the
thousands of businesses that carry loans tied to the Prime Rate
would die; it would be a death spiral for the economy. If the Prime
Rate went to, say, 2%, this would be great for businesses. But the
bonds would no longer sell. And another effect is the "cheap money"
would lead to many bad decisions and a massive misallocation of
resources.
You can see the Fed walks a tightrope. So-called "economists" have
come up with nonsensical models to ascertain the best course of action.
The models are nonsensical because they are overly complex and full of
assumptions made by people with no real-world experience. They process
noise as if it's signal. To make the right decision, you must ignore the
noise and focus on the signal.
Right now, there are two signals:
- The massive federal debt
- The massive amount of debt businesses are carrying as a result
of the Covid Scam, the Green Raw Deal, and many other facets of the
Communist Occupation.
In either case, the only way out is to stimulate the economy. A
federal rate cut does exactly that. But there's a caveat. The rate cut
is a double-edged sword because it depresses bond sales. And that means
you do not pull that particular lever unless the economic stimulation
will be enough to compensate for the reduction in bond sales. We have
seen what President Trump has done since Liberation Day to create just
such an economic environment--and it is substantial. Even if it were
only the $18 trillion of foreign investment into USA manufacturing last
year, that alone would justify a rate cut of perhaps up to 1% because
that investment is five times the GDP of Japan. But it's that PLUS so
much more. And the Fed won't cut the rate by a quarter point? That is
wrong, wrong, wrong. We need to grow the economy or die from the debt,
and we are in a position how where capitalist policies have replaced the
communist policies that got us here. Now is the time to hit the Nitrous
Oxide button on the dash and rocket our race car forward.
I don't have the numbers with which to do a proper calculation,
because the Fed does not share that information. However, we don't need
to go that route because there are only two signals and they are very
strong. Nothing else matters. Three members on the Fed panel can see
this, the others are simply bogged down in their focus on the
irrelevant.
One could make the case that Trump is stimulating the economy just
fine without cooperation from the Fed. After all, the jobs reports keep
exceeding the predictions by a wide margin. There's more and more
investment from foreign companies. The illegal alien invasion, which has
been a huge economic drag, is being corrected at a rapid pace. Tons of
economically stifling regulations, which serve no actual purpose, have
been eliminated. And we got the biggest tax reduction in history via the
OBBB. The list could continue for several pages. All of that is true,
but the sheer weight of the federal debt (which is increasing each year)
and the sheer amount of business debt are slowing economic recovery. You
can't just shake those things off. We need all the help we can get, and
the Fed is not helping.
The Communists
- Captain Kirk meets Joe Biden:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkQNgYRH01Y
- Monty Python sketch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ9myHhpS9s
- They are very upset that $1 billion in Medicare payments isn't
being sent to the People's Republic of Fraudifornia and the People's
Republic of Many-fraud-asota, just so they can pay out Medicare to
fraudsters. Maybe if they hadn't gone DEI, their state governments
would have employees competent enough to document which payments are
legitimate and which are not.
- According to the Governor of the People's Republic of New
Jersey, a "software error" allowed about 6,600 people who indicated
they were not U.S. citizens being registered to vote in New Jersey.
Yeah, and liquor store robberies are all the result of a software
error too. Who knew?
- Part of their "Stupidity First" agenda included the removal of
cursive writing from public school curricula. This really helped
them expand the moron pool from which they can extract gullible
zombie voters, because writing in cursive is a great exercise for
the brain. It also helps people be more efficient. But today, over
half of U.S. states now require (or strongly encourage) schools to
teach reading and writing in cursive. A mere decade ago, only 14
states pushed cursive. While this is a major setback for the
commies, it's a huge win for America and for its citizens in
general.
- Another reason the commies don't like cursive? Look at any of
our founding documents, especially the famous one that somebody put
his John Hancock on (hint, his initials were J.H.).
- Over 900 suspected human traffickers were arrested the FIFA
World Cup. When the commies talk about criminals being arrested,
they use the word "abducted". They have flat out said they want to
abolish police and "respect" the "rights" of people regardless of
the damage said people do to society or other people. More proof
that communism is a mental illness rather than just a sick and
twisted ideology.
- The communists keep referring to the Iran War as some kind of
folly engaged in for Trump's ego. The things Elizabeth Moron has
said are outright treasonous. Basically, the commie position is that
Iran isn't a threat to anybody. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which
has endured nearly 1,000 drone strikes on its oil industry since
February strongly disagrees with the commie position. The Kingdom
has, in fact, officially and publicly joined in the effort with its
own military actions.
Murdering Psychopath Update
"Newly released diary entries from Dr. Anthony Fauci show he
privately estimated COVID-19's case fatality rate at 0.2–0.3% in
February 2020, but told Congress weeks later the mortality rate was
around 1%, or 10 times more lethal than the seasonal flu. Sen. Rand
Paul, a longtime critic of Fauci's pandemic performance, released the
1,141-page diary ahead of Fauci's subpoenaed Senate testimony Wednesday.
Paul chairs the committee investigating the federal COVID response
and origins of the virus. The entries also reveal a striking fixation on
fame. As U.S. deaths climbed into the tens of thousands, Fauci pasted
flattering headlines into his journal and wrote it was "not hyperbole"
to call himself the most famous person in the country." [The Flyover,
28JUL2026]

3. Brainpower tip
|
Something I have noticed about profoundly stupid people is their only real
concern is how they are perceived. This leaves no room for intellectual
curiosity, adding knowledge, pruning away misunderstanding, or quietly absorbing
information. All of which are contributors to being an intelligent person. Not
only is this approach self-limiting, it is irrational because we are all born
with very little knowledge. Compare what a five year old knows compared to what
a five day old knows. Enormous difference. If we keep that perspective, we are
of a mindset to keep learning. And we can step away from the age thing and just
understand we cannot know everything. It's OK to be completely ignorant in a
given subject area, because we are all born ignorant and can't know everything
no matter how much we study.
Once you have this basic nailed, and most of us do, there are other tools you
can use to be someone who is far from stupid. My favorite is the systems
approach, because that is what I was trained in. Let me give you an example of
how this works.
I've been asked many times what exercise(s) I do for my abs. My answer is
always the same, "Squats". The reaction is usually not positive. And it
leads to my saying that I do not work my abs directly.
Now, someone who takes a systems approach would see what's going on here.
From a functional or aesthetic view, it makes no sense to train the abs
directly .They are part of a system. When you understand the role of the
spine in athletic performance or even in basic movement, you understand that
"ab development" should be a side effect of overall training of that
spine-based system. An exercise such as a squat trains that system, thus
also training the abs. Every part of that system, from stabilizers to
prime movers, gets stimulated to develop harmoniously and in proportion to
the other parts. You optimize not only the aesthetics, but the function.
Some other tips:
- Look for patterns. This ability is tested on IQ tests. If you want to be
smarter, practice identifying patterns. And exceptions to patterns.
- If you arrive at a conclusion that doesn't arise from the data, forget
that conclusion. It's probably wrong. Go back to the data and look for
patterns.
- If you don't know something, there's no shame. Failing to acknowledge
that you don't know is like trying to walk through a closed door.
- Insist on accurate language. Yes, this will annoy some people. But it
will help protect you from being misled and manipulated. Inaccurate word
usage is extremely common, and knowing the difference takes an exceptional
effort. Make the effort, so that you understand others and are also
understood. One of my pet peeves is when doctors refer to themselves as
"health care providers" even though they didn't go to Health School and
graduate with a Health Degree. They went to Medical School and graduated
with an MD. These two disciplines are very different, and expertise in one
usually comes with zero expertise in the other.
|
4. Finance tip
Did you know that 65.5% of all personal bankruptcies are due to
medical care expenses? That is only one figure of many related to the staggering
burden of medical care costs. Medical care is a massive rip-off, with grossly
inflated prices, unnecessary surgeries, and damaging drugs. Once you get on that
particular treadmill, you are unlikely to get off it with financial or physical
health.
The single best way to protect yourself from this massive
financial burden is to practice health care. Remember, health care is what you
do to take care of yourself. Medical care is what someone does to you based on
some protocol geared toward making a lot of money off you with the possible side
effect you might overcome the condition you are being treated for. If I sound
like I am saying all medical care is pointless, that's not what I am saying. It
is usually so after the fact that it tends to be palliative; they sell you hope,
not a cure. But in many cases, medical care is the logical choice. It just
should not be your default choice and you need to be careful that you don't get
dragged into the maw.
The medical care system keeps asserting they provide health
care. Yet not a single doctor has ever gone to health school and graduated with
an HD. They went to medical school and graduated with an MD. Doctors, in
general, are less healthy than average. They have higher rates of metabolic
syndrome, smoking, and muscular atrophy. They cannot advise you on healthcare,
but I can:
-
Eliminate these glyphosate endocrine modifiers from your
diet: wheat, corn, soy, and all products derived from them.
-
Eliminate from your diet seed oils, vegetable oils, "mild"
(cut) olive oil, and any oil that's been hydrogenated. Replace with animal
fats (lard, butter, milk fat, etc.), avocado oil, uncut (pungent) olive oil,
coconut oil (that is solid at room temperature, the other stuff is toxic),
nut oils (different from seed oils, they are extracted well below their
smoke point)
-
Eat a variety of colors of fruits and vegetables. Fresh or
frozen, either way is good. But zero fruit juices, these spike your insulin
super-high. Eggplant has three different compounds that kill colon cancer
cells.
-
Eliminate fragrances from your home, laundry, and person.
These are all toxic.
-
Replace commercial cleaning products with the traditional
ones. You save money and reduce chemical damage to your lungs, kidneys,
liver, brain, and skin. Borax, white vinegar, citric acid, hydrogen
peroxide, and baking soda are traditional, affordable, and (relatively)
safe.
-
Keep your home spotless. No clutter, no dust. If that is a
challenge, develop a system for achieving it. There is plenty of good
information on how to do this, if you weren't trained by your parents or the
Army.
-
Move. While I maintain a 5-day/week weight training schedule
plus martial arts plus climbing, that's not for everybody. If all you care
to do is take a daily walk, then do that. Gardening, lawncare, house care,
and kitchen work all help you move and stay mobile.
-
Go barefoot often. Such as any time you are in the house.
And outside, weather permitting. This exercises your feet, whereas shoes
cause atrophy in your feet. Excess shoe wearing will stress your hips,
knees, and neck; ask your chiropractor about this or prompt an AI for an
explanation.
-
Watch your posture. Shoulders back, tummy in, head back.
Stand with your back to the wall every day or take some other measure to
actively work on your posture. Every. Day.
-
Set a bedtime and stick to it. Anything "important" can
wait, few things are as important as getting enough sleep.
-
Have a wind-down time. Mine is one hour before bed, that's
when I have meal #6 and just relax with a book, magazine, or movie. If a
movie, I stop after half an hour and spend time brushing, petting, and
cuddling with the cat who owns me.
-
No coffee for eight hours, at least, before bed. Same for
decongestants. No "pre workout supps" at any time, these are just stupid
plus they usually contain high doses of stimulant.
-
Skip the unnecessary invasive tests. For example, the
colonoscopy is seldom actually indicated. It should not be done for
screening. If your diet is almost completely super foods, contains eggplant
daily, causes you to have two or three massive BMs per day, and does not
contain hydrogenated oil (or other damaged fats such as those in lunch meats
or seed oils), you have nearly zero chance of getting colon cancer. A health
care provider would check to see if this is your situation, while a medical
care provider jumps right to putting you at risk for a punctured colon by
getting an unnecessary (for you on this diet) colonoscopy. If you have
unexplained intestinal pain, bloody stool, or an apparent bowel blockage
then health care isn't the solution; see the medical doctor. If you want a
screening test for colon cancer without the risk and you don't have
symptoms, ask for the stool sample test.
-
Skip the experimental drugs. Even in theory, they don't make
sense. We know from decades of data the harms outweigh the benefits, because
the harms have been well-documented and the benefits are merely a matter of
religious belief a the altar of Big Pharma propaganda--the "benefits" don't
actually exist.
-
Be conservative with supplements. Most have minimal or zero
health benefit. They can damage your kidneys or other organs. Take the
oft-recommended multi-vitamin. Look at any brand, and you see insanely high
levels of B-12 and other B vitamins. Yes, these are water soluble but so is
salt. You wouldn't drink a gallon of brine, would you? These excessive doses
put an enormous load on your kidneys, and kidney disease is a major killer
in the USA. It's also a terrible way to go.
-
Get "poopy people" out of your life. Bullies, negative
Nellies, BS artists, chronic liars, communists, and the pathetically stupid
elevate your cortisol and that's not good. They are hard to get rid of
without being rude to them, but make the effort. When they want to hang out
with you, call frequently, or in other ways inject themselves into your
daily life say no. They'll eventually tire of the chase and move on to other
victims. Or you can set clear boundaries: no calling me during working hours
or after 8PM, I'd be happy to have a quick discussion on a topic you
actually know something about, sure come over tomorrow--we can talk while
you help me prune my bushes.
-
Be interested in other people, instead of trying to get them
interested in you. If you try to impress people by talking about yourself,
it's a turn-off. That is not to say you should never talk about yourself or
your accomplishments. You can weave those into a conversation. Don't make it
into the conversation. Don't talk over people, because doing that sends the
message you don't value them--this is one of those behaviors that results in
being lonely.
-
Be kind to other people. Say please and thank you,
compliment people, look for what's good. Hold the door open for someone
else, smile at people, and learn to make some kind of generally positive
comment for no particular reason. "What a beautiful day!" or "I love
the snow, we hardly ever get snow. Isn't this grand?"
-
Drive defensively. If you have not taken a defensive driving
course, find one locally and sign up for it. It's a fantastic investment,
you won't regret it. And your chances of needing an ambulance ride from car
crash will be dramatically reduced.
-
Park out a ways. Not only do you get a bit more exercise,
you avoid the extra danger that comes from being up close where more cars
are moving.
-
When walking in a parking lot, give cars a wide berth. Most
people pull into parking spaces backwards. They claim it's too hard for them
to back into the space, yet somehow they are safe drivers when they back
into pedestrian traffic? Unless you "pull through" an H configuration, you
have to back up your car. You cannot possibly hit a person when you back
into a spot. You can easily hit a person when backing out. There is only one
intelligent choice here, but most people don't make it.
Keep going
If you decide to commit to practicing health care, you will
develop your own list of what works best for you (or if you are already
committed, you have your own list). The thing about healthcare is it is a
lifestyle choice, not something you do sporadically. If you choose that
lifestyle, you are also choosing to not be financially burdened with medical
care costs.
You don't have to be a saint
Recognize that none of us is totally unflappable. We all get
frustrated at some point or have a really bad experience that leaves us less
than overjoyed. We get upset, and that's normal. How you interact with others
while upset really matters. It's OK to be upset, just don't take it out on
others. That will not only hurt you socially, it generates a lot of negative
energy that harms your health.
I had a series of frustrations at the grocery store, each one
wearing out my patience until I was visibly angry. First, the machine wouldn't
recognize my membership card. Then it locked up. Then I scanned a couple of
items and it locked up again. And again. Then it would ask me to rescan an item
or re-enter the code, but it wouldn't take the scan or the code. Each
time, the checkout clerk was there with little delay and got me going again.
I told her I was feeling really frustrated but she was doing a
good job of helping me out. At one point, I was almost done checking and bagging
all of my groceries when the machine locked up and then showed "Transaction
Cancelled" on the screen. I had already spent more time trying to scan and bag
my groceries than it took me to shop in the store and put them in my cart. I was
livid. The clerk could tell. I told her again how I much I appreciated her for
coming to my rescue.
But then it locked up on her and would not recognize her
password. I heard her mutter something under her breath. She got me going again,
but in the next aisle over THAT customer had a lock-up. I hollered over, , "It's
not your fault. It's me. I have an effect on the self-checkout system, causing
it to lock up. Some kind of cloud over me. They are trying to get me out of the
store, but I won't leave without my groceries. I'm sorry I did this to you."

5. Security tip
We are inundated with scam e-mails, telemarketing calls, fake news, door to
door con artists, and "health" advice from people who call themselves "health
care providers" despite being untrained in that discipline. We also travel on
highways where psychopaths effectively block the merge lane and put us in harm's
way, only to encounter hyper aggressive retards once we are on the interstate
highway. On city streets, we honk at the person who sits at the front of the
turn lane queue until the light turns red and he finally decides to move.
Grocery stores offer poison in packages presented as "food", 98% of pet food
should never be fed to a pet, medical insurance companies and their captive
providers push the vaccine religion, the supplement industry appears to
(generally speaking) be on a mission to destroy human kidneys, and restaurants
may as well post "Shorten your health span here" signs.
People who don't hold jobs due to mastering the art of welfare fraud have
plenty of time to patrol our neighborhoods looking for lawn chairs to steal and
packages to "liberate" from porches. Communists go to extremes to nullify our
elections, public schools go to extremes to nullify thinking, and city councils
go to extremes to squander our tax dollars.
These and other things constantly threaten us. How can anyone be safe in such
an environment?
The first thing to understand is if you let all of this weigh you down or
give you anxiety, that's one more thing that's stolen from you. Take small steps
to reduce the risks you can address. For example:
- For scam e-mails, the old advice was to ignore them. This is still good
advice, but it's even better to not have to see them. In Outlook, you can
set up rules to automatically handle the scam spam before it gets to your
inbox. Other mail systems have similar mechanisms. Another thing you can do
is click the unsubscribe link. This could simply verify your e-mail account,
but in general today it does get you unsubscribed.
- For telemarketers, you can answer the phone and then tell them to place
you on their do not call list. You can, depending on your phone service,
block their number. For cell phones, you can report them as spam and block
their number.
- Fake news isn't a direct threat, just don't watch it or subscribe to any
fake news publication. The problem comes in when you deal with people who
are under fake news control. My approach has been to tell them they are
disinformed and provide an example or in some other way make it known
they've been conned.
- I put a sign on my door telling solicitors that I charge $250/hour and
to have their credit card ready when they reach for the doorbell. This
stopped those annoyances completely. Down from 15+ per day to dead zero.
- When medical people start mindlessly repeating the idiocy they have been
taught or misuse "health care" I ask them what Health School they went to
and why they have an RN or MD after their name instead of an HD. They get my
point.
Roads
There are two problems with the road situation. First, the Covid shots have
severely damaged the brains of many people due to the excessive clotting caused
by log jams of spike proteins. I'm not saying everyone who was conned or coerced
into undergoing that medical experiment is now stupid. I am saying it has caused
a huge spike in stupidity due to organic damage. Combined with that, we have the
distraction craze and extremely short attention spans. This results in "dazed
and confused" drivers meandering slowly up an entrance ramp to pull out into
70MPH traffic at only 35MPH and others to sleep while at the front of the turn
lane. This is what stimulates the road rage and hyper aggression in people who
are vulnerable to losing control due to such factors as the chronic low level
stress present in our society (dozens of frustrations each day, driving people
to the verge of insanity).
We cannot fix these problems, but we can be alert to unfolding situations and
we can choose not to escalate. One thing we cannot do is count on police
protection, because the communists used George Floyd's suicide as an excuse to
launch a campaign to defund the police and generally make the life of a police
officer more stressful and frustrating than it actually is. On top of that,
President Autopen appointed many woke judges who believe our laws need to be
opposed rather than enforced. We need twice as many police officers as we have
now, we need vastly improved conditions for those who choose to serve, and we
need better equipment for them. Mostly, they need more respect. On this last
point, you can make a solid contribution. If you are pulled over or given an
order by a cop, comply. If you merely encounter a cop, always give a warm smile
and a sincere Thank You.
The Strategy
You can see the strategy, no? Take small, smart steps to reduce the security
issues that you can do something about. Then ignore the ones you can do nothing
about, so that your peace of mind isn't stolen from you.

The subject of protein is rife with misinformation. I'm going to clear that
up for you, in this article. It is much longer than what I usually write,
but bear with me please. Let's start with the bodybuilder staple, protein
powder. This isn't at all what people are led to believe it is. Thanks to
marketing hype and videos of Mr. Olympia contenders gulping down huge
protein drinks, we tend to think these are a good idea. They aren't.
# The Protein Powder Delusion: Why I’m Stepping Away from the Tub
I categorically reject whey protein supplements for multiple reasons,
including the milk is sourced from cows suffering from mastitis and whey
becomes an endocrine modifier after ingesting relatively little of it (short
chain protein, rapidly absorbed). Sourcing with New Zealand milk was once
the solution for the mastitis, but it became insanely expensive. Adding
casein was a solution for the endocrine issues, prompting the question, "Why
not just drink whole milk?"
So I chose plant-based powders, but even those I now use sparingly just
because all protein powders are a processed food. Not in the way "we"
normally think of processed (those are now called "highly processed"). The
early plant-based powders were grainy and disgusting, the solution was the
same solution "we" used to make wheat flour easier to bake with—process it
even more.
In short, if I consider whole, unhomogenized milk from grass-fed cows
(e.g., Amish farms) to have an A grade (A+ if not pasteurized, but our FDA
prefers sickness over health) then plant-based protein powders can achieve a
C grade. For the lactose intolerant among us (pretty much everybody), whole
milk is bothersome and that issue brings its grade down to a C. Thus, a spot
for plant-based protein powders. If they don't have petrochemicals or seed
oils added.
My current thinking is if you want to add extra protein, add a small fish
(bottom of food chain, not predator such as tuna) such as mackerel or
sardines to a vegetable-heavy meal.

### The Industrial "Smoothing" of Plant Proteins
To understand why plant-based powders max out at a C grade, we have to
look at what happens in the factory to make them palatable. The early
iterations of hemp, pea, and rice proteins tasted like dirt and felt like
drinking sand. Consumers hated it.
The supplement industry solved this not by sourcing better plants, but by
employing aggressive physical and chemical engineering. To make a plant
protein smooth and mixable, processors subject the raw material to high-heat
drying, alkaline stripping, and acid washing to isolate the protein fraction
from the plant's native fiber and carbohydrates.
Once you isolate that protein, it loses its structural integrity. It
becomes a completely dead, chalky dust. To make it behave like food again,
manufacturers introduce functional additives: emulsifiers (detergents, and
these interfere with intestinal motility), anti-caking agents, and
thickeners like guar gum or xanthan gum to mimic the mouthfeel of dairy.
Then come the "natural flavors"—an opaque, proprietary loophole allowing
labs to inject synthetic chemical formulations to mask the bitter taste of
isolated peas or hemp. You are left with a highly engineered, isolated
macronutrient that has been completely divorced from its evolutionary
context.
### The Evolution of the Whole-Food Matrix
When you consume a whole food, your body isn't just counting grams of
protein on a spreadsheet. It is interacting with the **food matrix**. This
is the complex, three-dimensional physical and chemical structure in which
nutrients are naturally bound. |
|
In a tin of sardines or a filet of mackerel, the protein does not travel
alone. It arrives intricately bound with cellular structural fats, highly
bioavailable heme iron, calcium from soft bones, selenium, B vitamins, and
massive doses of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA).
Your digestive system is an evolutionary masterpiece designed over millennia
to recognize and break down these exact matrices. When fish protein enters your
stomach, the presence of natural fats triggers a controlled, steady release of
cholecystokinin (CCK) and other gastric hormones. This slows down gastric
emptying, allowing your small intestine ample time to meticulously break down
the polypeptide chains into individual amino acids. The result is a sustained,
highly efficient absorption curve that your liver and muscles can actually
utilize for repair and synthesis.
### The Isolated Spike vs. True Bioavailability
Contrast that whole-food matrix with the biological chaos of dumping 26 grams
of isolated, liquid plant protein into an empty stomach. Because the fiber,
intact fats, and cellular structures have been stripped away during factory
processing, the isolated powder requires almost no mechanical breakdown by the
stomach.
It floods the small intestine rapidly. This sudden, unnatural deluge of amino
acids can overwhelm the gut's transport pathways. When the body is hit with an
artificial spike of isolated protein it cannot immediately use, it doesn't
magically store it all in your biceps. Instead, the excess is diverted to the
liver for a process called deamination, where the surplus protein is stripped of
its nitrogen and converted into glucose or stored as fat, generating metabolic
waste products like urea in the process. You are paying a premium to put
unnecessary filtration stress on your organs. Do this chronically, and you can
irreversibly damage those organs.
Furthermore, the supplement industry loves to talk about "amino acid
profiles," but they rarely talk about *bioavailability*. Plant proteins
inherently possess lower levels of certain essential amino acids (like leucine
and methionine) compared to animal sources, and they often contain residual
phytates and tannins that inhibit mineral absorption. While a plant-based powder
avoids the chemical, toxic, and endocrine-disrupting baggage of low-grade whey,
it still cannot compete with the sheer biological value score of a small fish.
### The Exception to the Rule: Free-Form Essential Aminos
There is, however, a distinct biochemical line to be drawn between an
industrial, macro-isolated protein powder and a targeted, free-form essential
amino acid (EAA) complex. While I have largely retired protein powders from my
routine, my afternoon regimen at 1500 on climbing days used to consist of a
plant-based powder mix when my standard 3-egg omelet wasn't practical. Today, I
have replaced that powder compromise entirely with an amino complex. Of the
three I have tried, my favorite (both for taste and for the amino profile) is
this one from Micro Ingredients:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GN4ZWCTP
The distinction here with aminos isn't semantic; it’s pure cellular science.
When you consume a plant or whey powder, your body still has to expend
massive digestive energy attempting to break down those clumpy, manufactured
peptide bonds—a process that, as we’ve established, leads to poor absorption and
metabolic waste. A sophisticated EAA complex completely bypasses the entire
digestive tract. Because the amino acids are already in their free, crystalline
form, they require zero mechanical or enzymatic breakdown by the stomach or
small intestine.
Within minutes of ingestion, they pass directly into the bloodstream with
near-100% bioavailability, delivering the exact cellular signals required for
muscle protein synthesis and rapid recovery without triggering an inflammatory
response or putting a filtration burden on your liver and kidneys. You also skip
the insulin response that drops your testosterone to zero, a common effect of
the popular whey protein powders that feature images of a steroid-using model on
the tub.
For an athlete who demands peak output, this is the only logical alternative
to a whole-food matrix. It isn't trying to be a "convenient meal replacement"
packaged by a corporate conglomerate; it is a precise, molecular delivery system
backed by hard clinical data. If you are going to use a supplement to bridge the
gap between your whole-food meals on high-exertion days, you must move away from
the dead dust of protein isolates and look toward pure, free-form chemistry.
### Safety at the Bottom of the Food Chain
When transitioning away from powders back to whole animal proteins, many
athletes default to chicken breast or tuna. This is a mistake. Industrial
poultry is a bio-security nightmare, and apex predatory fish like tuna sit at
the top of the marine food chain. A large tuna lives for years, consuming
thousands of smaller fish, bioaccumulating heavy metals, microplastics, and
industrial mercury in its fat tissue along the way.
Sardines and mackerel bypass this entirely. Because they are small,
short-lived organisms feeding primarily on plankton, they do not have the
lifespan or the diet required to accumulate toxic levels of heavy metals. They
represent the cleanest, most concentrated burst of bioavailable animal protein
available, entirely free from the corporate "wellness-washing" that plagues the
supplement aisle.
### The Verdict for the Optimized Lifestyle
If you are completely stranded without access to real food, or if severe
gastrointestinal restrictions prevent you from digesting whole meals, a clean,
plant-based powder free of seed oils and petrochemicals can act as a temporary
utility tool. It is a functional C-grade bridge.
But if you are chasing optimal health, cognitive clarity, and genuine
longevity, it is time to outgrow the supplement industry's marketing loop. Stop
demanding that a factory engineer a smooth vanilla powder out of a pea. Treat
protein as the complex, whole-food requirement it is. Step away from the plastic
tubs, reject the highly processed isolates, and look to the bottom of the food
chain for the real fuel.

7. Factoid
|
Violent crimes committed by illegal aliens are
disproportionately high. Crimes committed by lawful immigrants are
disproportionately low. The reason is rather obvious; illegals ignore our laws
in the first place and come here for what they can get--while lawful immigrants
come here to contribute to it and build something (usually for their children).
Which is exactly why the commies want more illegal immigrants (they make good
communists, because communists believe the other guy should do the work). |
8. Thought for the Day
If illegal immigrants make this country great, as the commies keep insisting,
then why didn't they make their own countries great before coming here?
