1. Good News: Where the Intel is Good
- There's help for those afflicted with TDS! See:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1uaO9rDFg0
- Germany no longer requires the Covid jab for health people under
75. It looks like they want to maim and kill only those 75 and
older, now. Progress!
- Vivek Ramaswamy, a patriot and capitalist, is having great
success in fund-raising in his campaign for Governor of Ohio. I used
to live in Ohio, and there is much to like about the state. But it
has had a strong communist element for a very long time. The commies
want it to be a blue state for the Presidential elections, and it
has been an effort to keep it red. One reason is the election
integrity laws there are not as solid as they should be. If Vivek
becomes governor, Ohioan voters can be protected from election fraud
to a much larger extent. And that would be good for the whole
country.

Defund the Legacy Media! You can help by:
- Cancelling all subscriptions to any lamestream media newsfeeds,
newspapers, podcasts, etc.
- Encouraging others to do the same.
- Make wisecracks about how lame and dishonest CNN is. Or pick any other
communist propaganda outlet. For example, "What kind of moron even watches
CNN?"

The Communists
Just a reminder to readers, I don't use euphemisms or other
misleading language tricks. Thus, I call the "Democrats" exactly what
they are: communists. Not as a pejorative (another language trick) but
as a result of comparing their ideology to that of Karl Marx. No
difference.
- When the commies defeated the SAVE Act in the Senate (thanks to
John "Leftwinger" Thune), Comrade Elissa Slotkin (Senator from MI)
said that if it had passed, "It would be hard for any Democrat in
any state to win any election." The Comrade is correct. The commies
cannot win in a fair and open election, despite owning the zombie
brains of the academics and the lamestream media. What they offer is
so profoundly toxic (and abjectly stupid) that nobody sane would
vote for a commie candidate. Negating the democratic process is the
ONLY way they can win, and that is why (as the comrade from MI
pointed out) they need the ability to cheat.
- The City Council of NYC recently gave themselves a $27,000
raise. They now make as much as US Congressmen.
- The commies are yet again calling for yet another impeachment of
President Trump. His "crime" this time? He declassified documents
that showed how vulnerable our elections are. If there is one thing
the commies absolutely, positively do not want, it is democracy.
They loathe the very concept, as their actions prove time and time
again.
- "When anyone can register to vote without ever proving they’re a
citizen, the system isn’t “accessible.” It’s compromised. And every
fraudulent ballot cast doesn’t just bend the rules — it effectively
silences a lawful American voter. Most functioning democracies on
earth require identification to vote. The fact that suggesting
the same thing here launches one entire political party into a
full-scale meltdown? That alone should raise every red flag in the
book." [American Journal Daily]
- "Every Senate Democrat skipped the main questioning at Chairman
Rand Paul's fraud hearing, "Exposing Fraud in America," where
witnesses including James O'Keefe detailed alleged ballot-signature
and government-funding schemes. Republicans accused the minority of
ducking a politically uncomfortable subject." [FreedomAndLibertyReport.com]
Medical Care
Americans spent an average of $9,717 per person on medical care in
2024, but the figure varies widely by state, from $7,233 in Utah to
$14,044 in Alaska, according to new Bureau of Economic Analysis data. In
any given year, I typically spend $0 on medical care. That's because I
practice health care. So the solution to runaway medical care costs is
pretty obvious, is it not?
I have had some atypical years, garnering some medical care costs.
This year, for example, I spent something like $400 for a steroid shot
to counteract some kind of nasty insect sting. That cost could have been
a lot less if I'd simply had access to 2.5% hydrocortizone and a few
capsules of Prednisone.

2. Product Highlight
Highlights:
- LIFE-CHANGING: The Rocket Pen will help your child read independently in
just days. This is the reading pen most often chosen by teachers and
recommended for dyslexia support.
- 6-IN-1 READING TUTOR SYSTEM: Go beyond basic text-to-speech with
spelling, syllabication (Orton-Gillingham inspired), phrasal verb lookup,
idiom definitions, color-coded dictionary fields, and real-time word
highlighting—designed to improve decoding, comprehension, and fluency.
- READS ANY SURFACE. Scans what you actually read from: phone, tablet, PC,
other screens - not just paper. We could not find a single other reading pen
that can do this. But the Rocket Pen can.
- READER PEN: You scan, it reads aloud individual words and even multiple
lines of text in natural voice. Helps those with dyslexia or other
reading-challenges gain reading independence. Earbuds automatically mute the
built-in speaker to avoid classroom stigma. Select different voices for
playback, lefthand or righthand use, left or right scan direction.
- REALLY BIG DICTIONARIES: A reader pen's word recognition capability
depends on the depth of its onboard dictionary references. The Rocket Pen
has the New Oxford American Dictionary with over twice the entries of the
best competing reading pens, plus the Oxford American Children’s Dictionary.
It also has the Oxford Thesaurus of English and Oxford American Children’s
Thesaurus. All of these are Americanized. The Rocket Pen scans English and
French only, but contains an English to Spanish dictionary and a French
definitions dictionary (French to French).
- COMES COMPLETE. Self-contained, no computer, tablet, phone, or Wi-Fi
required. Kit includes Rocket Pen reading tutor, USB charging cable, Quick
Start Guide, earphones, and case. Meets FCC, ROHS, and CE standards, and

3. Brainpower tip
|
One of my readers wrote about the insanely high level of profanity in use today,
especially among those on the political left. This was during the Independence
Day Weekend. He made some good points, and also stated he does not use
profanity. After sending him a reply, I thought a bit more on the subject.
Nowhere in our highly regarded Declaration of Independence is there a single
F-bomb. And that was a pretty important subject, with people's lives on
the line and a need to motivate the colonists to unite.
I can't find any profanity in the Gettysburg Address, either. Can you?
The crazy people who call themselves "Trans activists" use F-bombs and other
profanity at a very high rate. They claim it's justified and helpful, because
(they claim) their civil rights are being violated. But they are not a protected
class or even a natural class of people. They are simply people who ignore basic
biology to foment an absurd and delusional ideology that offers zero benefit and
a multitude of harms. What about the American negro, who endured 100 years of
civil rights violations after the Emancipation Act was signed? From Frederick
Douglas to Martin Luther King, not a single use of profanity among the leaders
of that movement.
I am not saying profanity is totally unacceptable in society. I am saying you
might pause before using it, and opt for something that communicates an actual
fact or idea.
I have heard profanity used like a condiment (hot sauce, namely) to drive home a point. A CEO,
after presenting a rational overview of a problem might drop one F-bomb. What
you do not hear is a string of F-bombs used in lieu of making a rational
statement or argument. It is intended to show shock or disbelief. If it is done
rarely and with the right timing, it's acceptable (except where children might
be exposed to it).
But "acceptable" does not mean optimal. Let me use an example for the
electrical geeks out there.
I have written about surge protection several times in my long technical
writing career. Non-geeks are familiar with surge strips and other point of use
surge protective devices (SPDs). Those are what we geeks call Type 3. If used
without Type 1 and Type 2, they are almost useless. Type 1 SPDs use one of two
technologies to divert really high energy (such as lightning) to ground--at the
power source, such as the service entrance equipment. Type 2 SPDs handle a lower
energy level, and they are used at the "feeder" panels (you don't have these in
your home, but they are extremely important in commercial and industrial
premises wiring).
I could use an F-bomb to emphasize the importance of staged surge protection
(e.g., the T-1+T2+T3 approach) and maybe get more attention. But I won't get
more clarity or understanding. Acceptable, but not very helpful. Straining one's
noodle a bit more to come up with precise wording is, in my view, much better.
"The transient will jump right across the f**ing leads of a Type 3 SPD" is
catchy, but it doesn't convey the same technical authority as "Lightning can
jump more than a mile, because it is millions of volts. This is why you must
divert high-energy surges to ground at the entrance. Even a few thousand volts
will easily jump the few inches between the leads of a Type 3 SPD".
Or take the F-bomb heavy rants by "Social warriors for justice". These
communicate unthinking rage instead of an idea. In their case, they really have
no choice because their ideas are just plain stupid and not worth articulating
anyhow.
One danger of the profanity-first approach is you train your brain to
skip past the reasoning and simply spew your view without substantiating it.
Which also means you probably have not thought things through to arrive at a
view that is actually correct. In my own view: When someone curses instead of
articulates, he is demonstrating that he doesn't consider what he has to say as
worthy of much thought. So I am much more convinced by a thoughtful, reasoned
argument than a mere stipulation decorated with obscenities. In a broader
view: Cursing is like bolding text or putting it in all caps. If you emphasize
too much, you emphasize nothing. A little salt improves the flavor, but if the
salt shaker cap comes off you ruin the food. |
4. Finance tip
I am amazed at the money people throw away. Consider these
examples from my own neighborhood:
-
Bagging up grass clippings, then paying Tru Green to spray
chemical fertilizers onto the lawn.
-
Spraying "weed killer" to get rid of the native plants in
your yard, but constantly reseeding because non-native grasses obviously
don't belong in your lawn else they'd already be native to the area.
-
Standing with the door open and the AC running to talk with
yet another siding salesman.
-
Owning two vehicles "in case I have to take the other one to
the shop". Tally up the insurance, maintenance, etc., and renting a car for
"shop time" is a lot cheaper.
And these:
-
Paying a gym membership so you can walk the track and run
the treadmill, but telling your kids to go outside and play when you could
stay home from the gym and chase them around.
-
Standing with your refrigerator door open while staring
inside and deciding what to eat.
-
Baking pies for a picnic in the afternoon, instead of in the
morning.
-
Paying for a newspaper subscription (other than the Epoch
Times), when you don't even have a bird with a cage to line.
-
Buying more perishables than you need, because they are on
sale. Well, when they perish you don't save any money.
-
Paying for "nitrogen" to inflate your tires. The air you
breathe is about 78% nitrogen, so you already have nitrogen in your tires.
If you replace the air in your tires with the 93% nitrogen in the bottle
used for filling your tires, you will still have the regular air (at 1 atm
pressure) in those tires unless somehow the tire tech is able to mount the
tire in a vacuum chamber. It's a complete waste of money.
Here are some bad ways to "save money":
-
Keeping the screwdriver with the chipped blade, just noting
to "be careful with it".
-
Buying a $29 DMM (aka "voltmeter") on Amazon. I used
professional equipment for years, and have an array of it. The cheap stuff
is not safe for general use around home and auto. It is OK for electronic
circuit boards, but not built to withstand what it might be exposed to on
120V home circuits or high-amp automotive ones.
-
Buying cheap particleboard furniture. Not only does it emit
carcinogens into your home, it doesn't last long and you have to replace it.

5. Security tip
Communism is an idiotic ideology that promotes the idiocy that everyone is
equal and should be paid equally despite making vastly unequal contributions.
Young people tend to latch onto this as somehow being a good thing, but most
eventually grow up and reject this idiocy. Partly because it is profoundly
unfair, and partly because it's just plain stupid.
Unless they are terminally stupid like Elizabeth Moron or profiting from it
like Bernie Sanders, nobody likes the results of this ideology.
What's left out of the propaganda is some people are more equal than others
and get rewarded for stealing instead of contributing, living well above those
who work. Orwell's Animal Farm is a great novel that exposes communism for what
it is.
If you have kids, make sure they read Animal Farm and discuss it with you. If
you have a young commie at your workplace, take that person out to lunch and
say, "I have a gift for you. Take this book home and read it. Twice. If you want
to discuss it with me, that's OK. And it's OK if you don't."
Some other things you can do to teach your kids about how insane and ugly
communism is:
- Ask your son, "So if I offered to pay little Jimmy down the street
$100 if you cleaned up all the dog crap in every backyard on the block
for a week, would you clean it up? Unless your boy really, really likes
little Jimmy, the answer will be a resounding no. Then tell your kid,
"That's not communism, son. Communism is where I force you to clean it
up and then I pay little Jimmy instead of you."
- Have your daughter identify her six prized possessions. Then tell
her, "Under communism, nobody has any property rights. If we were
communists, all six of those would be gone. Now, I want you to put them
in this box and experience some communism for three weeks. After which I
will give these back, but under communism you'd never see them again.
- Explain to them that communism came from a mentally ill, very angry
man named Karl Marx. Marx said socialism is a temporary phase between
capitalism and communism. And then explain the Holocaust to them (show
videos and still images, too). Point out that the Nazis did this. Ask
them if they know what Nazi means, and if not tell them it is the
National Socialist Party of Germany. Then talk about the 12 million Jews
murdered by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics at about that time.
Talk about Pol Pot. Talk about organ harvesting in China. None of these
atrocities happen in capitalist countries, they always happen in
socialist ones. And the reason is that socialism dehumanizes people.
Marxism is a threat to any civilized society. It must be prevented. And we
must ensure that children see it as the malignancy that it is, and reject it.
Don't wait until they are old enough to vote and already deeply brainwashed. |

A person I have known for a very long time, let's call her Glenda, used to
ridicule me for refusing to eat junk food. Her attitude was it doesn't make
any difference. It does, however, make a huge difference. As she got older
and recognized that weighing 50lbs more than she did in high school meant
she was too fat, she began changing how she ate. She doesn't have definition
in her arms or anywhere else, but she's not what you'd call especially fat
either. She looks better and feels better. Glenda still does not
understand the importance of meal frequency, and ridicules me for eating six
small meals a day. When I have tried to explain the science, she has often
scoffed, "That's your opinion". Actually, this concept is baked into our
labor laws and with good reason. If you're curious about the science, just
ask an AI such as Gemini, Chat GPT, or Copilot to explain it to you. Ask
about endocrine balance, kidney strain from too much protein at once, and
how the body deals with a meal every three hours versus only three times per
day. That brings me to another issue, and I will get back to Glenda. Some
people who eat processed food instead of real food and skip a lot of meals
decide to get a bariatric bypass operation or a similar surgery. This forces
them to, drum roll please, eat six to eight small meals per day. As my
sister has repeatedly pointed out, the smart move here is to go to the
"small meals" plan and skip the surgery. Duh. Glenda hates gyms and has
characterized my training regimen as "exercise". She says she's got that
covered just as well as I have, because she takes the stairs instead of the
elevator. And she "parks way out" so that she walks farther to get into a
store. But training and exercise are two entirely different concepts. One
obvious thing about her stairs "workout" is she is not getting the
full range of motion. I do a variety of squats that complement each other,
hitting the muscles (and not just my quads) in different ways. My Leg Day is
designed to stimulate the adaptive response by pushing my limits. Time under
tension, cellular damage, and metabolic stress are all taken to high levels.
It takes almost a week to recover from that, a very different thing from the
demands of going up or down a few flights of stairs. Then there are the
upper body workouts, similar thing and well-deserved attention to the
posterior chain. Just "getting exercise" isn't enough to produce the
aesthetics and functional strength you can have if you are consistent with a
well-designed training program. It's not rocket science to develop one, but
you have to do your research and pick exercises (for a given joint or muscle
group) that each make up for some deficiency in the others. And then you
need to do them correctly and in the proper order. |
 |
Here are some common mistakes:
- Starting with isolation exercises. You end with these, you start with
the large compound movements.
- Piling on the weights. This is how you strain your tendons, cause your
body to compensate (e.g., recruit the wrong muscles), and lose the mind-body
connection. If you do this with large compound movements, you risk serious
injury and death because you can't control the weight.
- Taking large compound movements to failure. This is how you get hurt.
- Not taking isolation movements to failure. The last one to three reps
will give you 80% of your growth stimulus. Why? Because you can barely do
them, and your body gets the signal that growth is needed.
- Lifting in the comfort range instead of at the full extension. Use less
weight, change angles, and work at the full extension. This is where the
"functional" takes place, not at full contraction.
- Relying on machines. These often isolate muscles that naturally work
together, which sacrifices the development of functional strength. Do squats
instead of leg presses.
- Ignoring bands and cables. Gravity usually confounds the use of free
weights, because you usually move the weights in an arc in which the
resistance is constantly changing. With bands or cables, this problem is
eliminated. I do the bench press (in very strict form) and dumbbell presses
(dropping way, way down to stretch those pecs) but I focus heavily on bands.
If you look at my top photo, you can see what this does to the pecs.
- Constantly changing up the workout. You have to learn the movements. Not
just how to do them correctly, but also what weight to use. You also need to
see how your collection of exercise is working. Too much rear delt work or
not enough? It takes weeks to sort this. Changing your workout all the time
makes it a performance, not training, session.
- Never changing your workout. If you have an imbalance, it's time to
adjust things. Or if you find yourself cheating too much on a given
exercise, try a variation or a different one that is more conducive to good
form. Elbow pain, shoulder issues, a glute not firing, and other issues can
mean it's time to change what you are doing.

do with long workouts or impossible to maintain diets. In fact:
- The best workouts are short and intense.
- A good diet contains far more flavors and satisfaction
than the typical American diet.

Where sources are not given, they are readily available to anyone who makes the effort.
Mark provides information from either research or his own areas of established expertise. Sometimes, what appears to be a personal opinion is the only possibility when applying sound logic--reason it out before judging! (That said, some personal opinions do appear on occasion).
Personal note from Mark: I value each and every one of you, and I hope that shows in the diligent effort I put into writing this e-newsletter.
It is an act of service, almost no money is generated for me through this
effort. Thank you for being a faithful reader.
Please pass this newsletter along to others.
