1. Good News: Where the Intel is Good

  • Mitch McConnell, who represents everything America Firsters and conservatives loathe, is retiring. But he intends to leave his repugnant stain on the Republican Party with his network of candidates, one of which will presumably fill the seat he is vacating. But Elon Musk has put up $10 million to back Nate Morris, who is running for that same seat. If Morris wins, it will be a huge blow to the RINOs, scumbags, and crooks who have, like McConnell, set much of the agenda for the GOP.

  • This holds the potential to break the Uniparty system that everyone from the Libertarian Party to Marjorie Taylor Greene have been complaining about. Even back in the 1990s, I referred to them as Demopublicans, The Party, and Republocrats. Because they would simply take turns screwing the country for their own personal gain.

  • The more that the Republican Party can replace morally bankrupt people like McConnell and his acolytes, the more it will appeal to people who have long been Democrats. One reason many people vote Democrat is they do so out of repugnance for these people who need to be replaced. At the same time, the "Democrat" Party is increasingly intolerable and shedding voters.

  • If Musk, et al, can break the Uniparty system and produce a mostly clean Republican Party, the "Democrat" Party will have no choice but to purge itself of morons, imbeciles, crooks, criminals, and Marxists of all stripes. That would also be a good development.

  • Tim "Moron in Minnesota" Walz says he's never going to run for office again. As if he is delivering bad news or something. The fact is Walz, who only two years ago was the VP nominee of the Communist Party running alongside low IQ Cackling Kamala, is a massive liability. He's also facing a very strong possibility of being indicted on RICO and other criminals charges that could result in his being sentenced to hundreds of years in prison.

His "I'm not running again" is meat tossed to the prosecutorial dogs, maybe if he removes himself as a threat they won't come after him. Dream on, Tim--you are exactly the kind of corrupt politician they need to make an example of. And as stupid as you are, they will probably have an easy time of it. Once they have a case settled and precedent set, it will then be easier to go after yet another corrupt politician. They will have tested various strategies and tactics on someone without a legal dream team. So, Tim, it's time to get your affairs in order and maybe hold a "going away" party because it looks like you might be going away for a very long time.

  • A "must see": https://www.theepochtimes.com/article/trump-first-year-by-the-numbers-5972437

  • "Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodriguez announced Tuesday that the country has received $300 million in initial proceeds from a U.S.-brokered oil sales deal following Nicolas Maduro’s capture, with funds aimed at stabilizing the economy amid ongoing political upheaval." [The Capitalist]

  • Since the USA took control, Venezuela's oil exports have doubled. This is going to make the citizens of Venezuela a lot better off. MVGA--Make Venezuela Great Again!

  • The USA has officially withdrawn from the World Harm Organization aka the World "Health" Organization. This was long overdue.

  • Led by morons for decades, the bureaucracy of the EU has withered against the force of nature known as President Trump. The aforementioned morons got by with gutting their own energy infrastructure, hamstringing their manufacturing and distribution sectors, imposing costly socialist nonsense on their citizens while constricting basic freedoms, by stealing from the USA. And ever since 1916 or so, we have bailed "Western powers" out of one European war after another that they got embroiled in due to their own stupidity and failure to properly fund and command their militaries. This has all been borne on the backs of hard-working European citizens who lack the right of free speech. Now that right is increasingly being asserted. Will ordinary Europeans at last be able to cast off the monarchies that contribute nothing and take so much? Let us hope so. They deserve better.

  • The child mutilation industry just suffered a serious setback that sets the stage for its total destruction. See the full story here:
    https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/jury-finds-doctors-liable-for-malpractice-in-gender-surgery-lawsuit-5978849

  • In the final year of the Communist Occupation, India ran a $45.8 billion trade surplus with the United States. They were also buying Russian oil. Now that has all changed, and President Trump used tariffs to change it. President Trump wrote that India has agreed to buy American goods “at a much higher level, in addition to over $500 BILLION DOLLARS of U.S. Energy, Technology, Agricultural, Coal, and many other products”. Even politicians in Moronesota should be able to do the math, here. We went from about $46 billion in the hole to about half a trillion to our benefit. The people of India benefit in many ways also, including getting quality American goods for their money instead of being ripped off via cheap Chinese junk products.

Investment in America

Within one year of Liberation Day, President Trump was able to persuade companies in other countries to invest $18 trillion in the USA.

  • Germany, the richest country in the EU, had a GDP of $5.8 trillion in 2025.

  • That same year, the GDP of Japan was $4 trillion.

  • Our own GDP was $30 trillion, and now we have investments of over half that amount all secured in less than one year with presumably more to come.

  • The word "investment" means that $18 trillion is going to grow year after year. Our GDP will grow, our debt will shrink, our incomes will rise, inflation will be reduced.

  • No wonder the commies and libtards hate Trump.

Of course, the massive investments are just part of what President Trump has done for this country.

And he's done a lot for the world, too. It's too bad the morons on the Nobel Peace Prize committee are mentally ill. They gave "Obama" the Peace Prize just for showing up, and it turned out that "Obama" was among our most warring Presidents ever. And he did a lot of damage to world peace. Trump, by contrast, ended several wars and brokered many peace deals in his first year in office. If the Nobel awards committee could give out 12 Peace Prizes on one year and did that based on the merits, Trump would have gotten all 12 of them. The runner up was a very distant runner-up. Not taking anything away from her, but there really is no comparison.

To keep the wins coming, we sane people must vote this fall and convince other sane people to vote. We must push for election integrity, praise what is good, disparage what is evil, and be kind to others in the process. Pushing back gently but consistently against the TDS victims and other delusionals among us now will make it easier to persuade them later to accept reality over gaslighting. Drop a truth bomb here and there. Have a respectful conversation (or at least be respectful when trying to have a conversation) with an insane person; listen without judgment, then ask questions like, "Can you give me an example?"

Stopping the Plundering

  • Citizen Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the Institute of Reprobates and Sociopaths (IRS) and the Treasury Department over leaks of his confidential tax returns during his first term in office. It's important to note that this is a well-justified personal lawsuit, not something being done with his executive powers.

  • If I could afford to sue the Institute for what they did to me, I think a $20 million payout after attorneys' fees and the other costs of prosecuting the case would be reasonable. But it takes $3 million just to get a case through the preliminary defenses and into federal court. The Institute has long relied on its ability to cripple an individual to the point where getting justice is out of the question. But Trump has the means to make this happen. Let's hope Trump prevails and then sets up a fund for other IRS victims.

  • Kevin Brown, the criminal mastermind behind the Hoyt Fiasco ($110 million) and apparently two other scams he operated via misallocation of government resources, is happily retired without a worry in the world. I do not normally wish bad on people, but I hope he becomes the target of several personal suits from former victims who were able to bounce back far enough to afford to go after him. This will make his final years full of stress while draining him of his ill-gotten gains.

  • Both President Trump and Citizen Trump have taken the long view, though. First, make the Institute increasingly irrelevant by reducing the 1040 tax burden via things like high standard deductions. Second, lay off half their "work" force, returning this terrorist organization to just under its pre-Biden size. Third, Make America Prosperous Again so that potential victims are more able to fight back. Fourth, reduce the size of the federal government so there is less to fund (under the goofy idea that the IRS somehow funds the government). Fifth, dramatically reduce waste, fraud, theft, and inefficiency in the federal government.

  • Sudden Millionaire Syndrome (SMS) seems to have afflicted most members of Congress. Two of the worst cases (Nutcase Nancy Pelosi and Ilhan Omar) are currently under investigation (Omar has gone from zero to $30 million), but so are many others. In most cases, the criminality is self-evident. For example, Congresswoman Ayanna had a negative net worth in 2021 when she joined Congress (salary of $174,000/year). Now only five years later, her net worth is over $8 million. Even Tim Walz should be able to do the math, there. But if not, this "humble public servant" millionaire could easily afford an accountant to do the math for him. Or maybe a third-grader.

  • Cross-dressing Michael Robinson, who calls himself "Michelle Obama" and lives with the illegal alien Barry Soetoro who calls himself Barrack Obama, have a lot of 'splainin' to do regarding their vast wealth. Robinson was a disgraced lawyer who had his records sealed and Soetoro was a fairly destitute "community organizer" (also with sealed records due to being here illegally) until Soetoro's meteoric rise in the Democrat Party. After "serving" eight years as POTUS on a salary of $400,000 while "Michelle" had no other employment, they are somehow able to own multiple multi-million dollar residences. If this does not have an overpowering smell of corruption to you, get your nose fixed! If you know any people who think going after these two crooks is ill-advised because it would allegedly start a race war, ask them why they believe that black people believe in a two-tier justice system.

  • The Clintons, legendary for their corruption, have finally agreed to be deposed. They tried extremely hard to evade deposition, but their efforts failed. What's great about this is Bill does not depose well and Hillary is a bad liar. Her tales are fantastical, failing to stand up to basic scrutiny. So the result of the deposition will be self-incrimination, since every unclever lie will be a de facto admission of guilt. It may at long last be possible to hold these two reprobates accountable for a wee bit of their sordid misconduct and criminality. Moreover, they have no problem tossing others under the bus, so expect a ton of perp walks to be conducted as a result.

  • There is a ton of waste, fraud, theft, and inefficiency in municipal governments, but people tend to ignore that. Check your city council and how they spend your property taxes and sales taxes, you will likely be shocked. There is also a huge amount of waste, fraud, theft, and inefficiency in every red state government and in the counties surrounding commie-controlled big cities like Chicago. President Trump cannot fix these things. We individuals must act. An easy way to do this is to turn out for all "off cycle" (non-POTUS) elections vote against anyone who runs as a "Democrat". Stop and think about why. Would an honest person align himself with the Party of Corruption?

  • You can also find out who the radical commies are on your city council. Then pick one to help defeat. Print up 50 or 60 door flyers pointing out 3 or 4 things bad this person has done, then go hang those on doors in that person's ward. This is not a huge commitment of time or money, and it can swing the election. I stopped a commie from gaining a council seat by doing this very thing. I also helped unseat a commie by going more hard core with 300 flyers I hung on doors. It didn't stop commie rule of our council, but it did cause a subtle shift in mindset toward the idea that plundering the city is not OK.

  • This is super-important. The commies just won a district in Texas, in a low turnout election. Sane people probably figured only completely delusional people, rapists, and career criminals would vote for the commie so it was safe to stay home and not vote. And besides, this seat had been held by a Republican for decades so there was no danger a commie could take it. They were wrong.

Between now and November, you need to talk with your sane friends and cite them this example. Make sure they get out to vote. Text them and call them the day before and again on voting day. As for any commies you know, don't give them any clue you are doing this. Let them think THEY have it in the bag so THEY stay home. You might want to text them that it looks like Comrade X (whatever commie is running) has it in the bag and you are wondering if you should even bother showing up.

Stopping the Child Mutilation Industry

Fox Varian was awarded a $2 million settlement against these sex offenders. That's a civil suit, with more to follow. This sets the stage for demolishing that industry and thus sparing millions of kids from being mutilated via amputations, drugs, etc. It will end immense emotional pain and immense financial drain, too. As the facade crumbles, you can expect free state after free state to pass child protection laws that will come with severe penalties for those who prey upon kids and their families in this way.

The "logic" that protects these predators is nutso. It's a crime for a grown man to fondle a 16 year old girl's breasts, but if he is a doctor and cuts them off that is OK. Really? The jury in this landmark case disagreed with that absurdity.

Now that the curtain has been pulled back and a jury has created precedent, legal momentum will build. The mistake these sickos made was believing during the Communist Occupation that they could incite their victims to behave badly in public to scare away the opposition. Instead of scaring away the opposition, this had the effect of showing that mutilation makes mental illness worse instead of curing it. Having bad actors like Nutcase Nancy (who was booed off the stage when she appeared at a NYC music festival in 2022) advocate for them also backfired.

This is not a MAGA thing, as pro-mutilation commies claim. Parents were fighting to protect their kids from this long before MAGA, and many parents went to jail for their efforts. MAGA does come into play, however, because a major feature of MAGA is its emphasis on basic human rights--something the commies are adamantly opposed to.

What Nutcase Nancy Calls "Tax Breaks for Billionaires"

Tax Foundation estimates that, altogether, these seven provisions of the OBBB cut individual income taxes by $129 billion in 2025.

  1. Maximum child tax credit increase of $200

  2. Standard deduction increase of $750 for single filers and $1,500 for joint filers

  3. State and local tax (SALT) deduction cap increase to $40,000 for taxpayers earning under $500,000

  4. New $6,000 additional deduction for seniors that starts phasing out when taxpayers make more than $75,000 ($150,000 joint)

  5. New $10,000 auto loan interest deduction that starts phasing out when taxpayers make more than $100,000 ($200,000 joint)

  6. New deduction for up to $25,000 in tip income that starts phasing out when taxpayers earn more than $150,000 ($300,000 joint)

  7. New deduction for up to $12,500 in overtime income ($25,000 for joint filers) that starts phasing out when taxpayers earn more than $150,000 ($300,000 joint)

Commie Nonsense, Part 488,299,874,653

Now the commies, such as one "Democrat" in Maine, are cautioning ICE agents to be "mindful of Constitutional rights". But the Constitution protects the rights of citizens, and illegal aliens are by definition not citizens which is why they are being rounded up and deported.

Clearly, President Trump needs to write an Executive Order that will repurpose SETI to look for signs of intelligent life in the "Democrat" Party.

It's also rather rich that the commies are crying about Constitutional rights now, when during the Covid scam they egregiously violated our Constitutional rights on a mass scale. And they work overtime to void our voting rights

Clearly, Roget's needs to update their Thesaurus to show "Democrat" in the list of synonyms for "hypocrite".

Even More Commie Nonsense

Chuck "I hate America" Schumer has announced the commies will hold America hostage yet again if ICE continues to enforce the law by removing illegal immigrants. It's hypocritical, of course, because the forced deportation numbers under Obama dwarf those under Trump. A big difference is Trump has used voluntary self-deportation with success, while Obama had no such program.

Since the vast majority of Americans, including most lawful immigrants, want illegals deported, this is yet another losing issue for the commies. Opposing our immigration laws does have strong appeal for shrill white rich liberal women, but for nearly everybody else the idea is repugnant.

Let's hope the commies choose to fall on this particular sword. It will play great on social media this November.

Even More Commie Nonsense

In the European Union, which has for decades relied on massive subsidies from the USA to prop up its Marxist utopia, sales of battery-powered (e.g., "electric") cars have passed sales of gasoline-powered cars for the first time. This is the same EU that stopped building coal-powered and natural gas-powered generating stations to chase the nonsensical "green energy" delusion. You can easily predict the pain that lies ahead for those unlucky enough to live in Europe. Perhaps it will be enough to snap the "leaders" out of their stupidity or at least snap the subjugated population of about 400 million unfortunate people into demanding massive reform in the EU system if not its dissolution.

There are some very good people in Europe (all the ones I know are very good people, anyhow), and they do not deserve what their "leaders" have done to them. And it's not just this. Remember America before Liberation Day and the harsh censorship measures employed against people who told the truth? The EU is still under that kind of oppression.

Even More Commie Nonsense

The communists tried to rally around "affordability", though they made life in the USA profoundly less affordable during the four year long ordeal that was their illegal occupation of the White House. This isn't an issue they can win on, since the problem is entirely their fault. Best for them to shut up and pick something else stupid. So they did.

Now they are rallying around keeping murderers, rapists, and drug dealers safely ensconced in our major cities and receiving welfare checks if they are in this country illegally. This, despite the fact that 61% of voters support deporting illegal aliens and only 34% oppose deporting them (recent Cygnal poll). The other 5% can't decide. Illegal immigration was a major issue in the 2024 election, and now the commies want a repeat. Their current focus is on Moronesota, a de facto seceded state that is being run by morons and very corrupt public officials.

Surely, it must be the case that most citizens currently stuck in Moronesota are not, themselves, morons. Or corrupt. Those with any sense, and there must be many, will vote a straight Republican ticket this November and stop the insanity. The communists are practically begging for such an outcome, by loudly going against the wishes of 61% of voters (nationwide). The more the commies keep up their pro-rapist rhetoric, the more voters they will alienate. This might be the year that Moronesota again becomes Minnesota. The land of 1,000 lakes instead of the land of thousands of loonies.

3. Brainpower tip

Don't be misled by labels. Ask a few basic questions to get at the truth.

Example 1

An acquaintance of mine is pretty slow on the draw. During the Covid scam, he accepted all the BS no matter how absurd. The latest thing with him is he has a Windows 10 computer that works just fine but is too old to change over to Windows 11. I don't like the word "upgrade" in this context, it's different not necessarily better. When you UPgrade, you go to something better. For example, you upgrade your sheets from polyester to cotton. The use of "upgrade" when it comes to software is usually a marketing deception. In some cases, you are truly downgrading. We have seen that in a few releases of Windows that had users howling, followed by a very early release of the next version. Windows 11 does break a few things, mostly legacy programs that run just fine on Windows 10.

My acquaintance is agonizing about the loss of "support" and the end of "security" updates. So I asked him, "What support have you ever gotten from Microsoft in all these years? Give me one example."

As for security, if you are on the load side of a router (and almost every home computer is, these days), you are behind a firewall. Let me give a concise explanation for those who are fuzzy on what a firewall is. To get inside a connected device, you have to access it through its MAC address. Your router is exposed, but there's nothing on it to hack. Loading a root worm onto it will get you nothing, if such a load is even possible. What you're really after is the data on a connected device. But you cannot get to any connected devices because the firewall is in the way. We speak of connecting our computers to the Internet, but what we are actually doing is connecting our computer to our router. It's the router that is connected to the Internet.

Back in the days of dial-up, this was not the case. You connected your computer directly to the Internet.

Today, it is almost always the case. It is now standard practice among ISPs to provide users with a modem that is a combo modem/router. So you are behind a firewall with no option not to be. If your ISP doesn't provide that type of modem, the home almost certainly has a router anyhow. Aside from those Stone Age installations that have no router, the only way malware gets on a home computer these days is if the operator does something stupid like surf the dark web or download "free" things from dubious websites. And that same vulnerability exists no matter what security updates you get from Microsoft.

Worms and other malware can't target something on the other side of the router, because they don't know what's there. They rely on an "ID Ten T" error (ID10T) to get into the system. This is why you see the same warnings all the time, such as don't open e-mail attachments from sources you don't know and don't click on links from spoof sites or spoof e-mails.

Having support or security is not a reason to change over to Windows 11, because in those aspects nothing really changes from Windows 10. This new OS has some great features, and I especially like the way it handles Notepad. But it also has drawbacks, such as breaking programs that I am accustomed to using. If you buy a new computer, it's going to be a Windows 11 computer. So the question of changing to it is kind of moot. Unless, of course, you have a program or service that no longer supports Windows 10; this is unlikely, if you have the 64-bit version of Windows 10. So all the angst this guy has over nothing would have been prevented if he'd simply asked a few basic questions instead of leapfrogging into a doom scenario.

Example 2

I got an e-mail from the Communist Party. They still call themselves the Democrat Party, a big red flag there. The e-mail said they were fighting "to protect the voting rights of every American". Which is a laugh, as they are the party of election fraud, and they take that fraud to extremes.

When I was in high school, the public school systems still had the goal of providing an education. Yeah, it was a long time ago. One of the books we read was George Orwell's 1984. I often ask people if they have read it, and the answer is usually no. Which is a travesty. If you have not read this book, order it on Amazon today and then read it. I suggest reading Animal Farm (also by Orwell), if you don't quite understand how toxic communism is.

Here's a bundle deal: https://www.amazon.com/1984-Animal-Farm-SET-BOOKS/dp/6059076351. Or just get 1984: https://www.amazon.com/1984-Signet-Classics-George-Orwell/dp/0451524934. If you want to skip reading the books (not your best decision), you can do an online search for the Cliff Notes version or maybe Copilot or whatever AI will provide a nice synopsis. But I recommend reading the books, then giving them to a lefty friend so (if your lefty friend isn't too far gone) the two of you can discuss the meanings.

If you are familiar with 1984, then you already know the point I'm about to make regarding Newspeak. If you are not familiar with 1984, then read it with the goal of understanding the concept of Newspeak and how it allows bad actors to get away with incredibly destructive behavior.

If you can recall the general flow of 1984 or if you read it today for the first time, you will be struck by the fact it is a playbook for today's Communist Party. They suppress dissent, suppress thinking, spew fake news, invoke endless wars (in the book, the wars between Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia), reverse the meanings of words as a means of propagandizing, and destroy people who go against their narrative. And what about Animal Farm? I read that one in middle school, and I thought it was a metaphor for the Marxist progression of American politics (yes, it was happening even then). Imagine my surprise when my teacher said it was a metaphor for the Soviet revolution and all the betrayal that followed. So I told him what my initial impression was. His reply? "Smart kid. You actually get it."

The examples I just gave aren't the point of this issue's brainpower tip. They illustrate the point. Abusers of power are also abusers of language, that's how they capture people's minds.

Remember what preceded the Holocaust? Cartoons of Jews with exaggerated noses, followed by other tropes. Then came the absurd accusations, then came the language abuse. Who can object to cleansing, for example? And don't forget, this was done by the National Socialist Party, which in German is Nationalsozialist or Nazi. Socialism was the concept touted in Das Kapital and The Communist Manifesto, both by Karl Marx. Every Marxist movement or party has used these same dishonest means to gain or retain power. They do that because the only possible outcomes of Marxism are negative ones, poverty being its most notable outcome.

Less notable, but more corrosive over time, is the stifling of thought. Marxism depends upon duping people, and a lot of stupidity enhancement is built into it. In the USA, a cornerstone was the establishment of the Department of Diseducation (in Newspeak, it is the Department of Education), whose primary goal was to abolish functional literacy in the USA. One of the first acts of that department was to remove phonics from reading education. The result was the national literacy rate plummetted from first in the world to dead last among industrialized nations.

This stupidity enhancement is one reason I am so against Marxism in the Brainpower Newsletter.

Ask basic questions. Get at the truth.

4. Finance tip

I was talking recently with a woman who was concerned about her diet but said her mom had never taught her how to cook. Her solution is she buys prepackaged meals and sometimes prepackaged greens over which she pours bottled salad dressing. I asked her if she thought this was an expensive way to go, and she agreed it was. But what choice did she have? She bought a recipe book, but it's just not easy to use. The truth is, you don't need a recipe book. I make nutritious, pleasing meals without ever following a recipe. To do this, a person needs only some basic equipment and some skill in a few food categories.

Equipment

You don't need to make a huge investment into pots, pans, etc. to efficiently make good meals. As a starter set, I'd recommend a nice set of stainless steel or other high-quality fry pans, a pair of glass pie dishes, a Dutch oven, and a pair of high-quality cookie sheets. A decent set of kitchen knives, a few mixing bowls, some glass storage bowls with lids, some plastic storage bowls with lids, a couple of spatulas, and whatever else catches your eye in the supermarket cooking equipment aisle.

Categories

Consider these food categories, below. No recipes are needed, you simply use what's on hand with an eye to keeping the ingredients compatible (for example, garlic is good with omelets not with pies):

  • Stir fries. For many years, I commuted to work so I relied on bags of frozen vegetables rather buying fresh. I would add things like cashews, diced apple, diced garlic, and sesame seeds. This is very basic, but the main skill involved is understanding how to control the heat. It needs to be no more than medium heat, or you wreck your pans. Back then, I also ate meat so I would separately fry up sirloin steak with onions and garlic or I would bake chicken and dice it up. You can buy these meats prepared already, if you don't want the mess. Dice them up and store in bowls in the refrigerator, taking them out as needed.

  • Cold veggie mixes. If I call them salads, people default to iceberg lettuce and a ton of gross dressing. Instead, buy a slew of vegetables like bok choy, spinach, eggplant, acorn squash, and kale. Dress it up with walnut pieces, chopped avocado slices, a bit of onion, and a bit of chopped garlic. Own a cruet, and use it to mix a robust olive oil (the "mild" ones are cut with linoleic acid and are toxic) and either balsamic or cider vinegar.

  • Soups. These consist of water and whatever meat and vegetables you care to add. A common practice is to cook a pound of beans in a crockpot (on Instapot), then divide the beans into storage containers. You then use a portion of the beans for whatever soup you are making. Serve with rice, and you can have something wonderful that is satisfying and nutritious.

  • Eggs. My mom used to say if you have eggs and greens, you always have a meal. Eggs are so versatile. You can scramble them, make a foldover omelet, boil them, etc. You can have them as the main part of a meal or as a supplement to it. When I worked construction, a lot of the guys would have a couple of hard-boiled eggs with pepper for the main part of their afternoon meal (often followed by a banana or orange).

  • Custard pies. This is the simplest kind of pie to make, partly because the eggs hold things together. The variations are endless. Perhaps the most famous custard pie is the pumpkin pie. You can use the same recipe, but instead of pumpkin use chopped up banana or any other fruit--surprise yourself and make a different pie each month of winter.

  • Drop cookies. These are simple to make. The basic recipe is flour, eggs, water, and baking powder. You can add various cruits. Blueberries, raisins, and apples are all winners. Pears, bananas, peaches, whatever is in season or on hand.

Note that butter and healthy oils are essential to good cooking. Disregard the "advice" that says otherwise.

Instead of using:

  • Wheat flour, which is toxic, use oat flour.
  • Processed sugar, use L-glycine or monkfruit.
  • Condensed milk, use a thick mix of a plant-based vanilla protein powder (Garden for Life makes the best one for this purpose).

You also need to have spices and condiments on hand. Carefully think about a system that works for you. Don't buy preground spices that come in a cardboard shaker, those are stale before they hit your shopping cart. Buy in bulk and use a funnel to fill designated glass shakers (with lids) or designated glass bowls (that can be stacked). Label everything. Figure out if adding a Lazy Susan or two will help keep things functional and organized. Don't go nuts with creating a huge spice collection. Condiments include (all sugar-free) mustard and hot sauce, which will come in their own containers. But for spices, set up a trial system with the following and the modify as needed if you add more:

  • Allspice
  • Basil
  • Black pepper
  • Cinnamon
  • Cloves
  • Cocoa powder
  • Ginger
  • Glycine powder (sweetener) [Note that L-glycine is a "lefthanded" version of glycine, they are not the same thing].
  • Monkfruit powder (sweetener)
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • X

Notes:

  1. What the heck is X? Don't call your grocery store and ask for it. I tried here to compile a basic list that would allow for whatever spices your ethic backround or experience considers essential. For example, I did not oregano and for Italians that is borderline sinful. My sister loves to use curry, a wonderful spice that is also absent from my list. And you can't make a good chili without cumin.

  2. Why is salt on the list? We are always told to reduce sodium! If your diet does not include processed foods, colas, or "energy drinks" you have plenty of room for salting your food before it becomes a problem. You need salt when baking, and to some people scrambled eggs "just aint right" without a dash of salt.

  3. Turmeric: The capsules cost about 100X per gram what a 1lb bag costs. But turmeric is messy. A solution that works for me is I fill a glass bowl  (with lid), and then use office Bulldog clips to close the turmeric bag (which I store elsewhere with my bulks, not in the kitchen where I am trying to work). I don't leave a scoop in the bowl, as grabbing it out will make my fingers orange. I dip in there with a metal spoon.

  4. If you really don't know what to do, ask a friend, neighbor, or relative to come to your home and show you. Then share a meal and have a visit. This person can point out where you need this or that added to your kitchen equipment, and demonstrate the basic process. Be careful not to get sucked into someone's orbit and thus learn wrong things as if they are right. Repeat this process with a few people. Another way to learn is to watch cooking shows, this is what housewives often did in the decades before YouTube. Hmm, you could also watch on YouTube.

  5. Be very careful with nonstick pans. Stainless steel and cast iron are non-stick, especially if you apply butter, lard, or a heat-stable oil (e.g., avocado oil) to them first. Some enamel-coated or copper-coated pans are safe, some are not; look for titanium or steel, not aluminum. In no case is any TEFLON or similar coating safe.

  6. The services that deliver meals you simply heat up sound good. But they are costly and there's a lot of cheap plastic involved. You don't need more microplastic lodging in your brain.

Not only do you save huge amounts of money by doing your own cooking, you eliminate the "need" to go with unhealthy alternatives. And if you gain some skill and experience in the few categories mentioned above, you can make an endless variety of tasty, nutritious, satisfying meals. You gain the skill by experimenting on your own and also by watching others to see how they do it (or by having them coach you). You can add to these categories, for example the category of what to do with a whole chicken.

5. Security tip

This is from a regional bank, The Bank of Labor (lightly edited by me). The goal of the message is to inform people how to protect themselves from a bank impersonation scam.

What is a Bank Impersonation Scam?

A bank impersonation scam occurs when a scammer disguises their phone number and pretends to be a trusted financial institution. Their goal is to trick bank account holders into sharing their personal information so they can access online banking accounts by impersonating the bank's fraud department.

How Does It Work?

Scammers will call their victims and claim to be from a bank's fraud department. They may say there is suspicious activity on your account, unauthorized access, or a fraudulent pending charge. To "fix" the issue, the scammer will ask for your personal information, including your online banking user ID, password, answers to security questions, or your social security number. Once shared, this information allows them to access your account.

Tips to Identify Spoofing

  • Check Numbers. Carefully examine the phone number that’s calling you. Scammers will often use a number that looks similar to one you recognize. In some cases, the number may even appear identical to the institution that they're impersonating. For example, the caller ID may be listed as 913.321.4242, but it is not Bank of Labor contacting you for your personal security information.
  • Detect False Urgency. Scammers will try to create a sense of urgency to pressure you into giving information to them immediately.
DO NOT give your personal data over the phone no matter how critical the situation may appear.
  • Note False Friendliness. As you may have guessed, I do business with this bank. A few people know me and I recognize their voice on the phone. If MMMMM calls me, she can use her first name and I will know who it is. But aside from those people, the caller always identifies him/herself by first and last name with Bank of Labor and also identifies the exact issue they are calling about. If someone were to call and say, "This is Phil with Bank of Labor" I would immediately be suspicious. [Added by me]
  • Note Lax Procedures for a Security Problem. If there's a security problem, the bank uses secure procedures to address it. They will, for example, send me a secure document for me to download using a code they text to me. Or they will ask me to come into a branch location. What's especially comforting in these cases is they know which branch I normally use and ask me if I want to set up a time (usually with MMMMMM) at that branch. The bank will never just call me and ask for sensitive information. They will ask for verification information or ask me if I can call the bank right back at the main number and ask for extension YYYY. [Added by me]
  • Note Any False Issues. I check balances each weekday morning. The bank is never going to call me to say my account is overdrawn and then ask me to wire money from some other bank. They are never going to call me and say the IRS has put the account on hold, because I use a separate bank in a separate city for all IRS-related and government-related financial business. The bank is never going to call me about a bounced check on my main account, because I use a separate account for checks. The bank is never going to call me about my deposit box fees, because I don't have a deposit box at that bank. [Added by me]
  • Know Which Bank Does What. As you may have surmised, I have different accounts with different banks in different cities for different purposes. This is not paranoia, it's basic financial prudence. If my government transactions bank calls me about something related to the IRS, I will take that call seriously and proceed--but not if such a call comes from any other bank. [Added by me]

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) offer several other tips and resources to help combat bank impersonation scams.

What To Do If It Happens to You: No bank is going to call you with personal questions. If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be a X Bank, hang up and call that bank. Ask for the Fraud Department. It is possible there isn't any fraud, just a poorly trained employee. But let the bank decide that, because it is almost certainly fraud. If you were to personally call law enforcement, you'd have little effect. But a complaint coming from a bank gets noticed. Let the bank handle this and do your best to cooperate in any way. We may not be able to stop The Democrats from stealing, but we sure can put a dent into stealing that starts with bank spoofing.

6. Health tip/Fitness tips

Age 65 in these pics

See all of my climbing videos here: https://tinyurl.com/ClimbingSigChannel. Some cool climbing  videos:

My hardest climb ever, a 5.11d on lead: https://youtu.be/UT5h0heUUBc . I made a dumb mistake initially, letting the rope wrap over my shoulder. Watch what happens.

The scale:

  • Beginner: 5.6. 5.7. 5.8, 5.9  (roped) / VV, V0, V1, V2 (boulder)
  • Intermediate: 5.10a, b, c, d ;5.11a, b, c, d  / V3, V4, V5, V6
  • Advanced: 5.12a, b, c, d; 5.13a, b, c, d. / V7, V8, V9, V10.
  • Elite and Pro: Even harder. Almost nobody climbs at either level at any of the 6 local climbing gyms.

Let's talk about arthritic joints. Arthritis is a general term for inflammation in the joints. The cause varies, and thus there are different types of arthritis. The more swollen the joints appear, the more the inflammation is a factor to deal with.

The medical industry focuses on medical treatments. Health care is outside their purvey, despite the language abuse to the contrary. But, they are very good at diagnosing and labeling things. Get a diagnosis, so you can better understand what you are dealing with in your particular case.

In general, there is a three-pronged approach to solving this problem:

  1. Remove inflammation-causing foods from your diet. You can do an online search for a comprehensive list, but the main culprits are wheat, corn, soy, meat from any of the three major meat packers, processed sugar, high-fructose corn syrup and similar, seed oils (e.g., canola, safflower, etc.), and vegetable oil. It can seem like a tall order to remove these, since for the typical American they constitute over 85% of the diet. I eat exactly zero of these.

  2. Add anti-inflammatory foods to your diet. The big one here is curcumin, which is found in turmeric. Turmeric is what gives mustard its color. If you take capsules, you pay at least 300X for the same amount bought in a bulk bag. So go online to Vitacost and order a 1lb bag. When you get it, fill up a small glass bowl with lid (found at any supermarket, if you do not have one--I use such bowls a lot so I have many--you can also order them through Amazon). Turmeric is very messy to handle, so don't leave a scoop in that bowl. When you need some, use a metal teaspoon and take what you need. You can sprinkle turmeric over soups, beans, rice, and many other dishes. If you're into protein shakes, toss in some turmeric. Add it to whatever you bake, too.

  3. Reduce loading and add therapies. If you have arthritis in your hands, you can reduce loading by being more careful how you grab things when you pick them up. If you have arthritis in your back or hips, you can reduce loading by doing specific exercises to improve your posture; you can also avoid doing head-down activities (e.g., excess time texting). Therapies include foot spa (can be used for hands or feet), laser therapy performed by a licensed practitioner, red light therapy, vibration therapy, and infra-red therapy. These last three therapies are available in a single device called the DNA Vibe.

That's it for this column in this issue. Please page down.

At www.supplecity.com, you'll find plenty of informative, authoritative articles on maintaining a lean, strong physique. It has nothing to do with long workouts or impossible to maintain diets. In fact:

  • The best workouts are short and intense.
  • A good diet contains far more flavors and satisfaction than the typical American diet.

7. Factoid

From the start of December through the one year anniversary of Liberation Day, ICE removed over 10,000 illegal aliens from Minnesota (mostly Minneapolis).

8. Thought for the Day

Have you noticed how the Trump administration is putting pressure on countries in South America to stop with the stupid socialism and instead treat their citizens well? Despite securing its southern border, Mexico still has a massive influx of people fleeing those countries and using Mexico as a way station. When we secured our southern border, that was only part of the solution. The other part is fixing the problem at its source. There was a time when nobody (except criminals) in Venezuela had a reason to flee the country, now nobody (except criminals) has a reason to stay.

The purpose of this publication is to inform and empower its readers (and save you money!). The views expressed in this e-newsletter are generally not shared by socialists or other brainwashed individuals. That's because those fools live in an alternate reality and have not bothered to learn the basics of how life works. They cannot do basic math, cannot apply logic, and cannot be bothered to learn the basic facts relevant to any topic that they are passionate about.

Except where noted, this e-newsletter is entirely the work of Mark Lamendola. Anything presented as fact can be independently verified. Where sources are not given, they are readily available to anyone who makes the effort. Mark provides information from either research or his own areas of established expertise. Sometimes, what appears to be a personal opinion is the only possibility when applying sound logic--reason it out before judging! (That said, some personal opinions do appear on occasion).

Personal note from Mark: I value each and every one of you, and I hope that shows in the diligent effort I put into writing this e-newsletter. It is an act of service, almost no money is generated for me through this effort. Thank you for being a faithful reader. Please pass this newsletter along to others.
