1. Good News: Where the Intel is Good

Celebrating Freedom

  • President Trump's tariff moves triggered the third largest stock market rally in US history. Of course, the communists are complaining about that.
  • President Trump signed executive orders rolling back appliance regulation idiocy, such as mandating that dishwashers not use enough water to actually work. The days of making water-efficient and energy-efficient appliances so unusable that people resort to less water-efficient and less energy-efficient manual means are over. The communists don't care about our environment, but the Trump administration does.
  • As reported in The Epoch Times, "The Trump administration has reached agreements with five more law firms to represent causes President Trump and the firms mutually support, such as helping veterans, for a total of $500 million in pro bono services."
  • President Trump declared Easter to be a celebration of Christianity. His predecessor declared it to be Trans Visibility Day.

  • America's Congresswoman, Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was censored, deplatformed, and harassed during the Communist Occupation, is now able to speak at Town Hall meetings under the protection of law enforcement. It's too bad she didn't have that to protect her from Speaker Nutcase. Here's an aggressive "protestor" being tazed by a police officer: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/watch-two-people-reportedly-tasered-police-marjorie-taylor-green-rally-multiple-others-escorted-out. If only they had tazed Nutcase every time she fined MTG for refusing to wear a face diaper.
  • Who would have thought even a year ago that we'd have the right to vote? Or that those we elected could speak the truth without being fined, libeled, and threatened with bodily harm? Or that negative IQ people such as Stacey Abrams, Cackling Kamala, and Alejandro Mayorkas would no longer have the power to project their ideology of hatred and failure into the public sphere?

  • During the Communist Occupation, the Brainless administration set out to hire 85,000 more nutjobs into the Institute of Reprobates and Sociopaths--nearly doubling its size from 100,000 gang members. But the commies made their move too close to Liberation Day, so it never happened. And now the terrorist organization has been slashed 20% to 80,000 which is 5,000 less than the 85,000 new criminals it was going to hire.

Not everyone in the IRS is mentally ill and not everyone in the IRS is a criminal. It's the vast majority of them however, and preying upon innocent citizens is the main method by which the IRS subjugates the population with abuse and terrorism. This downsizing is a huge step forward to for freedom.

Except for communist countries like California, state revenue departments ably, fairly, and honestly administer their state's income tax and the employees don't run massive criminal ventures like the Hoyt Fiasco. IRS can be repurposed and re-organized to behave like a tax collection and administration body instead of a terrorist organization that costs the government more than it brings in. It could easily be downsized to 500 employees from its current 80,000; more than that just invites trouble.

*****Some Updates*****

Easter Update

This year, Easter is not being hijacked into National Trans Awareness Day as it was last year. And this year, it's not a crime to be a Christian as it was during the height of the C*O*V*I*D scam. And our President is working hard on decriminalizing the act of Attending University While Jewish. Even for atheists, this surge in religious freedom is a very good thing. The newfound respect for our First Amendment bodes well for the whole Bill of Rights. And for lawful government generally.

Autism Update

RFK Autism Report: https://twitter.com/i/status/1912534329164517414 (9:24)

Tariff Update

Of course, the lamestream media get this all wrong. President Trump said, multiple times (plenty of videos of this) that the first round of tariffs would be, "Whatever tariff you have on us, we will now have on you." This merely levels the playing field. This has never happened before. There are additional tariffs for other purposes, this has happened throughout our history. But in general, the idea is to do to them what they have been doing to us so that they stop doing it to us. Our President is trying to get a deal with China: https://twitter.com/i/status/1913251682474958994

When I was in second grade, the school bully hit me. He hit a lot of second graders. He was quite surprised that I hit him back. He was really surprised when I kept hitting him. He never hit me again after that. This is how the first round of tariffs will work.

China Supply Update

Allegedly, punitive tariffs on China will cause American businesses to dry up and in particular destroy the many small businesses selling products on the Amazon marketplace. Mindconnection, LLC sells on the Amazon marketplace. We source nothing from China, at least not directly (that is, we do not knowingly buy from Chinese firms). That is because Chinese products are too expensive for a merchant because they are so cheap. What? When you look at the total cost, they are too expensive. The return rates are high, due to the shoddiness. Returns are very expensive for any seller. There's also the risk of negative feedback against the seller because the customer is very unhappy with the cheaply made item.

The data show that it is short-sighted (aka, stupid) for Amazon sellers to source from China in an effort to compete on low price. Their costs are inordinately high, while their margins keep getting thinner. These tariffs will force them to source elsewhere. That's bad news for my company, because it means competitors who would otherwise collapse later this year will get a second chance. But overall, it is good news for American consumers and our economy in general.

Commie Update

  • Mattel has decided to end its Discrimination, Exclusion, and Intimidation (DEI) policies. This and other remnants of the toxic Communist Occupation are gradually giving way to sanity.

  • The Kennedy Center broke its all-time attendance record with the Earth to Space show, despite a commie boycott. This just shows how irrelevant the communists are and how little they are needed in our society. If they all left the country, we would not miss them.

  • As of early April, the communist party has a 21% approval rating. I find it hard to believe that such a large percentage of American voters approve of the hate, idiocy, bullying, and constant gas lighting. Not to mention the sheer destruction; having one commie in office is like having a nest of mice in a grain silo.

Either the pollsters are euphemizing their questions, or the brain-off community is really that large. The good news is the rest of us constitute a far larger majority. It's still unsettling, if not scary, that the communist party has an approval rating above 0.000000000001%. That's a ton of mentally ill people. Many of them armed with SUVs.

*****The Scam Reports*****

A Dirty Dozen Scams to Know About

The C*O*V*I*D Scam

  • There are now 11 states with legislative action to ban the unsafe, ineffective mRNA shots that were dishonestly hawked as "safe and effective" vaccines. Amazingly, two communist countries (MN and NY) are among the 11. It's too bad this didn't happen at the outset, when Pfizer did a bait and switch by getting approval using one drug and making illicit billions by shipping a different one.
  • This scam is still unraveling. To date, there are dozens of studies and data analysis reports showing immense harms from the jab but there is not a single study or data analysis report showing any benefit.
  • For the past few years, young people with no comorbidities have been "dying suddenly". And in large numbers. This did not happen prior to the rollout of the "vax". Not a single one of these people was at risk of any serious consequences from C*O*V*I*D but all got vaxxed and all of them are dead. Why is this poison not banned yet? We banned DDT, and it caused orders of magnitude LESS death.
  • Want to know the truth? Type in the c-word, followed by .gov.

The Measles Scam

As of 07 April, a second death from measles was reported. As the first reported death was a consequence of medical malpractice AFTER the girl was already recovering from measles we have at most one death. There are 4.96 million schoolchildren in the USA. I don't see 1 out of nearly 50 million as a reason to force all of these kids to undergo an experimental medical treatment, do you?

The Inflation Scam

A summary of the March meeting of the Frauderal Reserve ("the Fed") reveals that Fed officials "fear" that "inflation may be more persistent than expected." This is a laugh, considering the Fed had the chance at that same meeting to reduce the Prime Rate and thus stimulate the productive side of the economy--which would reduce inflation. Instead, the Fed chose to keep the rate high to appeal to the patsies who buy T-bonds.

When the supply of money grows faster than the basket of goods and services grows, you have inflation. This means that the Fed is the sole cause of inflation. The Fed causes inflation by  being "the lender of last resort" to the Federal Government, which translates in reality to being the Federal Government's money counterfeiting arm. The Fed "buys" the debt with money that did not exist microseconds prior to the purchase. The solutions to inflation are:

  • Dramatically slash government spending so that less counterfeiting is needed to cover the orgies of spending. DOGE is finding enough waste, fraud, and abuse to make a big dent here.
  • Dramatically slash the Prime Rate so that businesses have access to investment capital. The downside of this is that people stupid enough to "invest" in low fixed-rate borrowed assets (e.g., bonds, CDs, T-bills) will no longer be attracted to those "investments". They are not actually investments, because their return is always less than the rate of inflation.

Inflation is not a general rise in the price of goods and services, yet that mis-definition is commonly used. It is misleading in the extreme. Inflation is a tax levied in the form of currency debasement, and it is the single biggest tax that just about anyone pays. A big problem with this tax is we don't get anything back from it. It is not like other taxes, which are used to fund government services. It is used solely to fund pork barrel spending, most of which is illegal, and all of which is a wealth transfer to private sector parties that contribute nothing to society.

The Fed could improve things by one simple action. Stop lying.

The DEI Scam

  • The US Air Force Academy and the Military Academy at West Point both recently announced they will not be racist in their admissions policy. This was more than 60 years after the passing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, but at least we are there now.
  • Discrimination, Exclusion, and Intolerance (DEI) temporarily set civil rights back by more than a century and a half, during the communist occupation. Now DEI is being repealed and rolled back everywhere.
  • How can you counteract people who are DEI backers? See if you can get them to pay attention for 17 minutes, and have them watch this video:
https://rumble.com/vw2wzp-martin-luther-king-i-have-a-dream-speech-august-28-1963.html . If they can't focus that long (no surprise), ask them to view the 10 seconds that start at 13:38.

The Anti-DOGE Scam

The commies are complaining about DOGE and torching Teslas in protest.

  • Check out this amazing fraud! https://x.com/KanekoaTheGreat/status/1910386253398487243
  • As reported in Blabber Buzz: According to Fox News, the DOGE report specifies that "24.5k people over 115 years old claimed $59M in benefits," "28k people between 1 and 5 years old claimed $254M in benefits," and "9.7k people with birth dates over 15 years in the future claimed $69M in benefits."
  • As reported the Epoch Times: An additional 9,700 people with birth dates more than 15 years in the future were paid $69 million in benefits. In one case, an individual with a birthdate of 2154 claimed $41,000 in unemployment benefits, DOGE stated on social media platform X.

So preserving this massive fraud is so important that it justifies destroying the private property of people who had nothing to do with either the fraud or finding the fraud? The commies seem hell bent on proving that they do not belong in our society. Aside from the fact that only a mentally ill person would be a commie in the first place, these people hugely need an intervention. I call that intervention "prison" and the longer the sentence the better.

Two more twists on this insanity:

  1. As reported in the Epoch Times, " More than 70 House Democrats wrote to the Trump administration on April 9 seeking confirmation that special adviser Elon Musk will leave the federal government after 130 days." Note that "Democrat" in this context is a euphemism for communist. There are hardly any Democrats in the "Democrat" party anymore, the vast majority are America-hating, low-information, cognitively-challenged communists who lack any integrity at all. Look at that string of defects; any one of them makes the "Democrat" unsuitable for Congressional seat yet all four are present in nearly every "Democrat" in Congress.
  2. Nutcase Nancy is claiming that President Trump is "attacking Social Security" because DOGE is protecting it from fraud. As a member of Congress who should have retired decades ago, she should be held to a higher standard than a non-office holder. Her blatant lies go unpunished instead, because she enjoys special privileges for some reason nobody can explain.
  3. A gang member of the Institute of Reprobates and Sociopaths was quoted in Blabber Buzz saying that IRS employees are fleeing in droves because they felt the President has crossed a moral line. Amazing! The most amoral group of thugs in the history of organized crime accuses someone of crossing a moral line! You simply cannot make this stuff up!

The Anti-SAVE Act Scam

SAVE = Safeguard American Voter Eligibility. Yet another commonsense measure to prevent mass disenfranchisement through fraud. The commies simply cannot stand the idea of fair and free elections. That's because no informed and sane person would want what they offer. When the commies talk about "their" democracy, they mean one in which there is absolutely no democratic process. Because if there were, nobody would choose them because no informed and sane person would want what they offer.

Now Hillary Clinton, who is known for whoppers like her story about being pinned down by gunfire, is claiming that the SAVE Act could disenfranchise 59 million American women, such as those who have taken on a married name, due to not having an ID that matches. If this claim had any legs to it, then these same women would not be able to file an I-9 for employment, open a checking account, board a domestic flight, obtain a credit card, sign a lease or mortgage, take out a car loan, or even join a gym. My question is, "Just how stupid does Hillary think women are?"

When Trump defeated Hillary in 2016, I said, "We have dodged not a bullet but a cannon fusillade." Let's hope this latest from Hillary ends whatever scrap of credibility she has with even the most libtarded. Even those who believe her ridiculous take on Benghazi (and Vince Foster and Travelgate, and....) surely cannot believe this latest lie, can they?

If there are people that profoundly stupid and they try to pressure their senators to oppose the SAVE Act as Hillary requests, will those senators be swayed? I think not, their decision will be based on whether they are pro-democracy or pro-communism. Communism has been disastrous for this country, and it is about as popular right now as chronic diarrhea. There is a great divide now, with the extreme commies on one side and everyone else on the other. You can see this in the media, legacy media looking ridiculous on the one side and the new alternate media ringing true on the other side.

Communism is built on logical fallacies, incorrect assumptions, disinformation, and ignorance. Those, like Hillary, who push communism rely on these four things to argue their positions. Which is why their arguments simply do not hold up under an even the barest of scrutiny or minimal analysis.

It's also worth noting on this particular issue that roughly 80% of Americans (according to polls and also according to actual election results) want free and fair elections. A recent Rasmussen poll showed a 77% approval rate for the SAVE Act. If not for the lies spewed by Hillary, et al, that figure would be closer to 97%.

The Harvard University Scam

I have never had a high opinion of this Ivy League school, because it is a big fraternity where connections hugely outweigh competence. My MBA program used mostly the same textbooks (just one year behind) and syllabus as Harvard, but we didn't have big beer parties to distract us from studying. Many smaller regional colleges and universities provide a vastly superior education, but the market value of one of these degrees pales beside that of a Harvard degree. To get into Harvard, you must already be exceptionally bright and have stellar family connections. It's hard to see what Harvard actually does for students other than filter on these two criteria which pretty much negate the need for a degree in the first place.

That may soon change. Harvard has chosen to stick with its Discrimination, Exclusion, and Intolerance programs even though that will cost them $2 billion in federal funding. This sends a very clear message to donors who currently support this indoctrinator of hate. If even half the donors have any moral compass at all, Harvard is going to starve for money. Since actual education is just a pretend thing at Harvard, why don't they just stop spending money on fake education and go directly to the networking that makes a Harvard degree open so many corporate doors? They could put it online, with special sections for hating Jews, Christians, white males, semi-white males, people who identify as white males, and so on.

The Violent Criminal Protection Scam

In preparation for the coup, the commies launched the "Defund the Police" movement. It was launched when police tried to save the life of George Floyd who came to them asking for help (yes, he actually said, "Help me" to them, in a weak voice, while approaching them) and were not able to counteract the fact that Floyd's fentanyl overdose had already put him past the point of no return.

During the Communist Occupation, there was a great effort made to protect violent criminals. With police forces humiliated, vilified, demoralized, and underfunded (and in some cases such as Kansas City down below 40% staffing), the next step to protect our precious muggers, rapists, serial killers, drug dealers, gang bangers, and other violent psychopaths was to illegally disarm their potential victims. Note that the politicians behind this had their own armed security at taxpayer expense (Trump has since removed that privilege from many of these "entitled" whackos).

Going after firearms dealers with petty bureaucracy to make their businesses untenable was another part of this scam.

During his election campaign last year, President Trump stood solidly behind those "who serve in blue" and has not wavered since. Now Pam Bondi is clearing all the anti- 2nd Amendment regulations out, especially those anti-gun dealer ones.

Nobody from the Communist Community has yet given a reasonable explanation of why they feel it is so important to ensure the safety of violent criminals at the expense of law-abiding, innocent citizens. My big question is if they have such a passion for ensuring violent criminals are safe to prey upon law-abiding citizens, why don't they move to south Chicago and other places where violent crime is high, or better yet volunteer to live alongside violent criminals inside maximum security prisons? Their hypocrisy is stunning. But it's also necessary, at least for them.

Ensuring violent criminals are free to prey upon the citizenry is one way to keep people in constant fear. And if they are in constant fear, they are not thinking. And if they are not thinking, you can much more easily gas light them and control them. That control is the whole purpose of "gun control". It's about control, not about guns per se.

In addition to this insanity, which the communists have pushed relentlessly, we are now seeing idiocy on steroids with certain people fighting really hard to keep certain violent gang members (like Kilmar or Kill More, whatever his name is) in our country. And guess which political party those "keep the criminals here!" people are in? Yep, the Communist Party aka the "Democrats". They may as well be wearing "Don't vote for me" signs around their necks. I hope they keep up this behavior, it will ensure they are soundly defeated in next year's midterms.

And now we have a President who will fight, fight, fight against the criminal protection scam and who has picked for his team good people like Ms. Bondi who will do the same. Let Freedom Ring.

The Hillary Clinton Scam

Hillary Clinton used to be considered smart. But when she was "co president", she messed up every job Bill gave her. But she still managed to have a reasonably good public image. This was helped in no small part by her decision to "stand by her man" during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. I believe she told Bill, "I'll get us past this, don't worry. But I'm going to devote the rest of my life to being an embarrassment to you. You will wish we had never met." And look at what she's done since then. She has embarrassed her husband multiple times, through utterly disgraceful behavior. She did a terrible job as Secretary of State, with Benghazi standing out as particularly bad. There was Russiagate, e-mailgate, and a slew of other scandals. She called out publicly for people in the government to "resist" and undermine President Trump during his first term.

Nobody should take Hillary seriously. Her whole existence is wrapped up in revenge against her husband by acting the total fool in public. She is not just running one scam after another, she is a scam.

She's got a general pardon from Brainless, and that could cause problems with a federal prosecution even though it was signed by autopen and the Vegetable In Chief probably never saw it. Even if he had personally signed it, such a pardon clearly violates the intent of Presidential pardoning power and can probably be rendered void (or is it null?) in Federal Court. Even so, Hillary is vulnerable to civil suits, extradition to other countries, and criminal suits brought by states Attorneys General. Yes, she is punishing herself as well as Bill by her self-denigrating behavior. But I still would like to see her convicted on felony charges in addition to being financially ruined by multiple civil suits.

Happiness is Hillary in an orange jumpsuit!

The Jasmine Crockett Scam

This lying, America-hating, corrupt moron is constantly spewing inanities while trying to seem as if she is somehow standing against evil. I find it painful to watch her on video, and cannot fathom how a person can be that stupid. Now that she and her stupidity are notorious, here are some mentions:

The Biden Speaking Fee Scam

Brainless is charging $300,000 per appearance. He can't understand why people aren't signing up. Maybe nobody wants to hear the an angry, incoherent communist spew lies at them as if they are too stupid to see through his BS? Ya think?

The Kamala Think Tank Scam

Cackling Kamala, whom Mel Gibson charitably described as having the IQ of a fencepost (you overestimated her, Mel), is now trying to start a think tank. No further comment is needed.

3. Brainpower tip

I sent this in response to an e-mail from a Mensa officer (note that in the original I did not replace the C word with asterisks--I did it here to avoid censorship). What brainpower tips can you derive from not just my message but what prompted it?

***

It is shameful that Mensa jumped into the C***** scam with zero critical thinking skills on display. Obviously, a dust mask with a .300 aperture is NOT going to stop a virus (the largest ones are 0.070 microns) and obviously there is no saliva cloud emitted by humans because all cars have their windshield wipers on the OUTside not on the inside. And obviously, if a "vaccine" works then it doesn't matter if everyone else gets it or not. Yet, allegedly intelligent people were allowed and encouraged to require attendees at their events to wear pointless face diapers (bacteria petri dishes) and/or submit to an experimental gene therapy that was never tested for safety or efficacy (same thing Josef Mengele did, forced medical experimentation).

I don't know what the remedy is for the shaming, bullying, and excluding that was done to people who used their frontal cortex in this miasma of stupidity, but this behavior toward us should never have happened. It happened only because some Mensans failed to think. There has been no mea culpa and thus no lesson learned from this. That seems at odds with our being a high IQ society.

The stupidity campaigns never stop. Now we have the non-existent bird flu. No dead birds found anywhere, where are they all? The "solution" is to kill healthy chickens so they don't get sick. What if we did that to human families? Do you see my point here? Mensa should never, ever embrace stupidity no matter how much disinformation is put out by "experts" who can't do third grade math and no matter how much baseless fear mongering and gas lighting we are subjected to. We are better than that.

4. Finance tip

When you grow up fairly poor in a household dominated by Depression Era attitudes toward wastefulness, it is psychologically difficult to discard things. Only last year did I throw out a small box of parts (a light switch, turn signal capacitor, light bulbs) for my 1973 Dodge Charger--a car I sold in 1998. That box didn't take up much room, but such boxes add up.

Many guys won't toss out worn-thin underpants or worn-thin black dress socks. You can buy six pairs of those dress socks for $9 on Amazon. Granted, socks and undies don't take up much space and since the space they take up is usually a drawer, there's no effect on living space in this scenario. But the mentality is still there, and it bleeds over into other things. Like worn-out shirts that fill your closet and require you to use other storage space that could have gone toward freeing up living space.

I extend the life of items by repairing them. This can save you a lot of money, but you can carry this only so far before there's a negative return on it. For example, I had a dishwasher for (I believe it was) 21 years. I had replaced a lot of parts over the years, including the motor. When the display finally gave out, I decided to replace the whole dishwasher. But I still have a clothes dryer I bought in 1989; I have repaired it twice and it still works fine. It moved with me from Ohio to Kentucky to the Nashville area to two hours west of Nashville to my present location in Kansas.

Being in a severe economic Depression currently, these old mental memes can be especially tenacious. We have to remember that the communist occupation has ended, and since Liberation Day much improvement has occurred. So it's OK to toss out things that are essentially dead weight (like all those federal employees!). But how do you know what to toss out and what to keep?

Sometimes I toss things that are very useful, only because I just don't need them. Or as many of them. For example,  I buy preground coffee in the Folger's plastic tubs. These are very useful, so I dislike tossing them out. But to avoid having my living space used to store empty coffee tubs, every so often I just grab a few and toss them into the recycle bin.

Something I do is evaluate a given item (or collection of items) in terms of how much living space it deprives me of. At one time, I had two lawnmowers; neither was working right. So I bought a new Honda top of the line one and got rid of the other two. This freed up one lawnmower's worth of living space. I still have project scraps in the garage I need to do that with, though I did get rid of half of them last year. As you may have guessed, last year was a big clean-up year for me. I reclaimed a good amount of living space, by simply getting rid of things that didn't have enough value or utility to justify the living space cost they presented.

You should also discard tools that are worn out. These are a safety hazard plus they will likely damage what you are working with. Examples include screwdrivers with chipped tips, dull saw blades, dull drill bits, and wobbly C-clamps. If a ladder is damaged, replace it. If a portable cord is damaged, replace it. It a kitchen pan has a loose handle, replace it. Using any of these things can result is severe injury, any "savings" is not worth the risk.

I have bins of old computer parts, because until last year I always built my own machines. I've decided that instead of sorting through the parts, I will just empty an entire bin into the trash. Why do this, when there might be something useful in that bin? Well, that gets you into sorting through and keeping things. I've observed some hoarders who've made an effort to declutter by stuffing their clutter into boxes and bins. You just don't get rid of things, this way. Empty the entire bin, and you are done. Plus, you can set empty storage bins out on the curb with a Take Me sign if you can't stomach the idea of trashing perfectly good bins. You could also do that with bins you never emptied.

Being richer by having less seems counterintuitive. But remember that there's a cost to everything, and sometimes you come out ahead by not hanging on to something.

5. Security tip

Certain members of society have deemed it perfectly acceptable to drive their SUVs through store windows at night and then loot the store, toss Molotov cocktails into occupied police cars, openly engage in Jew-hating, characterize white male Christians as unworthy of life, disenfranchise tens of millions of voters, rip off the Social Security system with non-existent individuals receiving benefits, defraud Medicare, advocate for child mutilation, routinely engage in shoplifting, aggressively smear people who don't agree with them, make fake SWAT calls on people who don't agree with them, do shoddy work for their employer if they even have one, blatantly and profusely lie, and generally behave with no ethics and no love of fellow man. Many of these same people claim that Christians are trying to "genocide" them or "exclude" them.

In my opinion, we are all born with a moral compass. I say it's my opinion, because I don't have hard evidence to back it up. I conclude it from decades of life. It seems to be universal in not just humans but many other species as well. What the "oppressive" Christians are asking out of other members of society is, IMO, based on this innate moral compass. But I also see it as a low bar. If you cannot hold even to this standard, you are not wired right.

We all know, or at least should in my opinion, the following:

  • It is wrong to lie, except in special cases (e.g., "Are there Jews in your attic?").

  • It is wrong to steal, except in special cases (such as in an emergency).

  • It is wrong to murder. Other types of killing are not murder, e.g., shooting the guy who has drawn a bead on a police officer or killing a home intruder).

  • Gluttony is wrong. We feel guilty, or at least should, when we behave like pigs.

  • We automatically respect our parents, and we know not to bring shame on our family.

  • Adultery is harmful; it's not something you get away with by hiding the act, it's something that corrodes the actor and the marriage. We know this. Intuitively.

Christians have been advocating that people abide by this knowledge. So have Jews and Muslims. Again, it's a low bar. It is not at all the same as trying to force others into their ideology. This is, in my opinion, a secular question. Can you behave in a way that respects the basic social contract?

Obviously, some people cannot. Or choose not to. Then they want to claim that [name that faith] are oppressing them. Is this true? In my experience, proselytizing goes much like this:

  • Rabbi Wasserman prepared a special message as part of his "Be Uplifted" series. Would you like to come?

  • My church is having an ice cream social, and it's home-made ice cream. Would you care to join us?

  • I am sorry to hear about your loss. I'm going to mow your lawn for you, one less thing for you to do. Can we pray together?

I cannot see how any of that is oppressive. But I can see oppression by the other side, with such tactics as Cancel Culture, Critical Race Theory, and Child Grooming for Trans. I can also see a great deal of harm. These folks are clearly sociopaths, which makes them a threat to society generally and to individual people who get in their cross-hairs. Note also, these sociopaths elevated George Floyd to the status of national hero and victim following his death from a fentanyl overdose but now oppose President Trump's anti-fentanyl tariffs. Sanity just does not enter into their world view. And it's because their sole focus in life is on assaulting the social contract.

How do we defend against this assault on the social contract? Tom Petty said it best in his song, "Don't Back Down." Below are most of the lyrics, note especially the first line of the last stanza provided in this excerpt.

Well, I won't back down
No I won't back down
You could stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I won't back down

No I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down

(I won't back down) Hey baby
There ain't no easy way out (I won't back down)
Hey I will stand my ground
And I won't back down

Well, I know what's right
I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around
But I'll stand my ground
And I won't back down

My hardest climb ever, a 5.11d on lead: https://youtu.be/UT5h0heUUBc . I made a dumb mistake initially, letting the rope wrap over my shoulder. Watch what happens.

The scale:

  • Beginner: 5.6. 5.7. 5.8, 5.9  (roped) / VV, V0, V1, V2 (boulder)
  • Intermediate: 5.10a, b, c, d ;5.11a, b, c, d  / V3, V4, V5, V6
  • Advanced: 5.12a, b, c, d; 5.13a, b, c, d. / V7, V8, V9, V10.
  • Elite and Pro: Even harder. Almost nobody climbs at either level at any of the 6 local climbing gyms.

A mom in her 30s shared with me why her household has no choice but to rely on processed food, including fast-food carryout or delivery. She gets up at 0530 every morning. It's hard to roust her kids out of bed. By the time they show up for breakfast, there's no time to cook anything but at least with a bowl of cereal they get breakfast. They get out of the house at 0715, she drops them off at school, and she makes it to her office a tad before 0800.

She leaves work at 1500 to pick up her kids. She drops her daughter off at soccer practice and goes across town to drop her son off at Karate school. Then she heads back to the office to finish out the hour and a half she still owes her employer. She is lucky they let her take off and come back; in exchange, she works an extra half hour every evening.

At 1730, she makes a beeline to the Karate school to pick up her son who has already been waiting half an hour for her. Then they pick up her daughter. They stop at McDonald's, because the kids are starving. She gets home at 1900.

Hey, guess what, she's not a single mom! She spends a few minutes with her husband, before they both go off to do some "work at home" for their respective jobs. She takes a break halfway through to fight with her kids about doing their homework. At 2000 (8PM), she makes tomorrow's lunches for her kids, makes something for her husband to have when he gets home, and makes a brownbag for herself. She does some housecleaning, then takes a shower, then fights with the kids to get ready for bed.

She answers e-mails and text messages until about 2115 (9:15PM), after which she goes to bed. She never has a good night's sleep, so awakes to the alarm clock at 6 the next morning.

"When," she asked me, "do I have time to cook anything?"

One problem is her priorities are wrong. The "food" she relies on is mostly highly refined wheat and corn, which is basically sugar and the endocrine modifying effect of these is actually stronger than what you get from table sugar! Plus, these are grown with glyphosate, a powerful neurotoxin and carcinogen. So consuming them is not a solution to anything.

Life is full of choices, and every choice has both a cost and a benefit. You must weigh one against the other.

My suggestions to her:

  • Stop acting like a martyr. Enroll your husband's help. Don't demand perfection and don't criticize him. Any defect in what he does is worth the benefit of being able to feed real food to your family.
  • Assign specific house cleaning jobs to each individual. If they don't want to do, which is the likely first response, then say it will have to be done by outside hired help and they will be responsible for the bill for that. A filthy house is not an option.
  • Negotiate a different arrangement with your employer. They already have you working from home every night, so make it clear that you will not be returning to the office for an hour and a half as well. That alone will save you an hour of wasted windshield time each day, enough for you to prepare food-based meals.

  • Work out a deal with your kids. Maybe the son can study Karate at a school that is more convenient, or perhaps the daughter might switch to a sport that works out better time-wise. Regardless, if they want taxi service from you then they will have to accept responsibility for doing their homework and preparing for school the next day.
  • The fighting every night will greatly subsist if the family sits down to a decent meal together every night. It's a time-saver.
  • Look back over the past two years to see how much time the bad diet has cost you in terms of doctor visits, pharmacy visits, underperforming your tasks, and underperforming in the emotional / social contract with your family. Discuss this over a meal with the family, stressing why a good diet is so important to time management.

  • Don't go extreme with the new diet. It isn't necessary to put everyone on bean sprouts and tofu. Take feedback on what people like and don't like. Real food has something for everybody.
  • Take one child on a grocery trip. Interact a lot, and let that child make the choices with your input. Repeat with the other child. Repeat with the husband.
  • Learn batch prep techniques. Buy what's needed for those. Get one other family member to assist you in some specific way, for a month. Just one month, suck it up. Repeat with a different family member. This will teach them to appreciate the work and condition them to support it (for example, by not fighting bed time preparation).

  • Develop a pre-bed ritual. Do something to relax, for example cuddle with your husband while reading a book.
  • Make your bedroom dark at night, and change your bedding weekly.
  • Drink some chamomile tea an hour or so before bed.

Some narrative

If this sounds like too much change for you to make, then do the math. Sacrificing your health due to "lack of time" is not a solution. That junk food diet means you will be giving up two decades or more of "health span". Instead of enjoying life into your 80s or 90s before your independence becomes an issue, you will likely spend a few years in a nursing home before dying with no dignity in your 70s. And you'll have set the same course for your kids. But look at what live is for you now, is this any way to spend a decade or two of your limited life span?

Now, go back to your mornings as they are now. If your kids were eating right, you'd have no problem rousting them out of bed. They could make their own breakfast (e.g., scrambled eggs) or you could have something premade for them. They could be ready in under 45 minutes, which means you could sleep in an extra half hour. Look at how the time-savings start piling up, just by correcting the "bad fuel in the tank" problem. Resorting to junkfood does not save you time, it costs you time. You cherry pick what time to look at and draw the wrong conclusions. You can repeat this time analysis as you implement my other suggestions.

You will no longer need to take sick days from your job, and you will no longer arrive there tired and frazzled. Think about how this will affect your job stability and earnings potential. Now, another important consideration is that instead of sending your husband the message that he's not someone you can rely on--you have partnered with him and you depend on him. That is, you are showing that you value him. That is extremely good for a relationship. Which means that once you go "empty nest" you can probably spare yourself all the time it takes to go through a divorce and deal with the aftermath thereof.

Conclusion

I cannot see a single benefit to replacing real food with fake food, other than the delusion that you save time. If you wreck your body with junk food, how does that really gain you anything? Instead of gaining minutes, you lose years. There is enough time to do it right. You will not get a do-over.

At www.supplecity.com, you'll find plenty of informative, authoritative articles on maintaining a lean, strong physique. It has nothing to do with long workouts or impossible to maintain diets. In fact:
  • The best workouts are short and intense.
  • A good diet contains far more flavors and satisfaction than the typical American diet.

7. Factoid

While running for President, Kamala, a moron, could not think of one thing she'd do differently from her boss, a vegetable.

8. Thought for the Day

When people actually watch The View more than once, it's a bad sign for civilization. Unless they think it's a farsical comedy along the lines of a Monty Python episode, due to how utterly stupid it is.
