1. Good News: Where the Intel is Good

Fighting Communism

  1. The House of (mis)Representatives passed a resolution condemning Brainless and "Border Czar" Cackling Kamala for utter failure at the border. Managing the border was the one job that Brainless gave to CK and she utterly failed at it. All she had to do was go back to what Trump had in place, because under Trump our southern border was its most secure--no massive shipments of fentanyl coming over, human trafficking down, violent criminals not coming here en masse and then staying here after multiple arrests for rape and other violent crimes. It is not the House that needs to condemn CK, it's the American People. How many will vote with their head not jammed way up their nether regions? We shall see in November.

  2. Regarding the aforementioned resolution, six Democrats voted for it. The Resolution passed 220 to 196. Those who did not vote for it are Democrats In Name Only (DINOs), because this hugely damaging situation should not be a partisan issue. Even the RINOs voted for it. There is no excuse among those who did not; those 206 America-hating communists should be recalled by their respective districts.

  3. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is headed up by Mark "I hate democracy" Zuckerberg. It seems Zuckerberg also hates other aspects of living in America, such as respecting our privacy laws. The company just agreed to a $1.4B settlement with the State of Texas for collecting and using biometric data without consent. But it's not the first time they got a spanking for this kind of scofflaw behavior. For the exact same behavior, they settled with the People's Republic of Illinois for $650M. Notice the difference in protecting citizens, Illinois is a communist country while Texas is one of the USA's 36 free states.

The C*O*V*I*D* Scam

  1. Infant mortality rates began rising, instead of falling, for the first time in decades coincident with the experimental gene therapy that was unnecessary, unsafe, and ineffective. The Centers for Disinformation and Censorship claims to not be able to explain this. Yet another reason that defunding the CDC would be a good thing to do.

  2. Reality-challenged Senator John Fetterman has tested positive for c*o*v*i*d (the test has an 80% false positive rate) but also exhibits symptoms consistent with such a diagnosis (though many other viruses, and even allergies, can produce similar symptoms). Fetterman has been both a Brainless Biden cheerleader who maintains Brainless is "sharp as a tack" (omitting the fact Biden has the IQ of a tack) and an ardent proponent of the unsafe and ineffective gene therapy marketed as a "vaccine". He's still in denial about that.

Jeff Childers of C&C wrote, "In his tweet, Fetterman vowed he was 'grateful to be fully vaccinated.' Curiously, immediately after noting Fetterman’s jabby gratitude, the Enquirer reminded readers that Fetterman has had: a stroke, lingering auditory problems, atrial fibrillation, clinical depression, and last month, a bizarre car accident."

Childers is an attorney, and a very bright one at that. His newsletter is entertaining, informative, and endorsed by some big names on the side of truth and personal medical freedom. It's worth subscribing to, even if you don't read every issue (it comes out daily). Other News

  1. New Hampshire just banned transgender mutilation / sterilization for children and now reserves girls' sports for females.

  2. Thanks to Jeff at C&C for providing this link, 19:25 of Brainless gaffing. This proves he was a demented imbecile years ago: https://x.com/i/status/1758118600676884898.

  3. In fact, proof came long before the 2020 stolen election. He was the only one on Team Obama to object to the plan to have Seal Team Six take out Osama Bin Laden. He said he was afraid we would offend the Pakistanis. Keep in mind that every other nuclear power on earth wanted OBL dead, China and Russia were not exceptions. Basically, if Pakistan took umbrage over our taking out the fugitive they were harboring, it would be them against the rest of the world. Including Saudi Arabia. One cannot ask, "What was Biden thinking?" because the question would presume he actually thought. Which didn't happen.

  4. Kimberly Cheat a Little (aka, Cheatle) resigned as Secret Service Misdirector due to her complicity in the Trump assassination attempt. This does not solve anything, since the people who masterminded this move are still at large and still unidentified. The Department of (in)Justice needs to audit her financials, phone records, e-mails, etc., and follow the trail. You can bet they won't.

  5. The Senior Senator from Kansas on Israel (5:19): https://youtu.be/LSrPbmw_qc4

  6. The Epoch Times recently reported, "In a historic fiscal milestone for the federal government, the national debt rose to $35 trillion for the first time, according to the latest Treasury Department data. Current debt levels are equal to $105,000 per person and $266,000 per U.S. household." That is staggering, especially during a time in which over half of US households don't earn enough to cover the basic costs of living (which have risen so dramatically since the coup)--how can they be on the hook for their $266,000 share of this debt?

3. Brainpower tip

One way to boost your brainpower is to hang out with smart, intellectually curious people.

Libtards don't do this, they hang out with reality-challenged, fact-averse people who demand among their tribal members Conformity and Ignorance or they hit you with Exclusion (CEI). And not just exclusion from their group, but from as much as as they can do to you including getting you fired from your job. To avoid being Excluded, libtards bury their head as far up their [insert name of anatomical part here] as they can. It's a lot like the monkey thing, except instead of being willfully ignorant of just evil, they are willfully ignorant of anything that is counter to their religious beliefs (religious in the sense they accept by faith or more likely by fiat). Hear no reality, see no reality, speak no reality.

So the opening statement might have you thinking of testing for Mensa. But during the Covid Scam, there was a distinctive shift into amygdala-based perception rather than any use of brainpower. That is, among the majority of Mensans and among the leadership, people did not apply any thinking much less any critical thinking. Suddenly, organizers of Mensa events could put little symbols on their notices denoting things like "mask required" or "vaccine required" even though the masks were clearly pointless and there never was a vaccine (the gene therapy that was incorrectly called a vaccine quickly proved to be unsafe and ineffective). On top of this, how can an "unvaccinated" person pose any disease threat to someone who is "vaccinated"? I was ashamed to see the High IQ Society behave with such utter stupidity. And there has been no mea culpa or other "Come to Jesus" moment in regard to this.

That said, Mensans are usually smart, intellectually curious people. And you do not have to be in Mensa to participate in various (nearly all) Mensa activities. You do, however, need to be a member of Mensa to vote in Mensa elections. Ah, caught ya! You were just thinking American elections need to stick with that same principle. Pretty smart of you to think that.

Mensa does not have a monopoly on smart, intellectually curious people. As my long-time friend Joseph pointed out after reading the previous edition, he's a ham operator and finds that interacting with other hams is intellectually stimulating for him. He learns a lot and enjoys the general attitude. In the ham culture, there's a sense of Diversity (people's differing views are not only respected and allowed, but sought out), Equity (your race, religion, political party, and social status are pretty much disregarded--which is in stark contrast to the "Democrats" view that these thing define you and your intellect is just not needed or wanted), and Inclusion (nobody gets kicked out or harassed just because they are in the majority viewpoint--what the "Democrats" do--nor because their viewpoint departs from some official narrative).

There's a long list of activities you can participate in while finding smart, intellectually curious people. Pretty much any non-political activity qualifies. And some political ones do also; to identify them, look for fact-based approaches. An easy way to identify fact-based approaches is to get a copy of the New York Times or view the Communist News Network to see which of these groups or activities are vilified as extremists, misinformation spreaders, etc. or simply take a view that is contradicted by the NYT or CNN. Then you will know they are spot on.

Where you stand on the precipice of a stupidity abyss is when you mistake certain kinds of groups or activities as having any intellectual value. Here's a representative sampling:

  • Anything that makes broad-based assumptions such as white people oppress black people.
  • You hear terms like "social justice", "justice warrior", or "right wing". These are spewed by fact-averse people with delusions of adequacy.
  • The group leaders misuse language and/or spew inaccuracies on basic concepts (e.g., "our democracy").

  • The focus is on negative behavior. For example, "Defund the police" or "Send the unvaxxed to quarantine centers".
  • Random violence is glorified. Remember the summer of 2020, when Black Lives Manipulated was so influential as a cult that Nutcase Nancy was calling them "peaceful protestors" despite the horrific violence they unleashed? And nobody was indicted!
  • Group members demonize their opponents. Let me clarify. Referring to Queen Pelosi as a nutcase is simply an observation based on what she actually says. Being insane is not in itself evil. Making things up about Donald John Trump, especially when those things are in sharp contrast to his actual words and deeds (easily verified) and then using the nastiest invectives to make the case he is evil incarnate and "a threat to our democracy" is demonizing. Demonizing does not have evidence to back it, and it is excessive in its claims.

I've been a climber for a couple of decades now. Because climbing is so cognitively challenging, those who stick with it and advance past the beginner stage are smart and intellectually curious. And because failure is such an integral part of climbing, we are all pretty humble yet self-confident. We have interesting discussions, and sometimes they are not about climbing. But guess what? Nobody goes into politics or religion, even though we know there's a diversity of political and religious views. We aren't there to "correct" other people in these areas or get validation for our own views. We are there to climb and to be supportive of other climbers. So there's another sort of filter when seeking activities or groups.

In the Mensa Bulletin, there are pages of tiny blurbs about Special Interest Groups (SIGs). I don't know how many SIGS Mensa has, but it looks like well over 100. Plus local groups have their own local SIGs (I have, for example, the Climbing SIG. And there's the Walkabout KC (Kansas City) SIG which is obviously not national. If you know someone local to you who is in Mensa, ask that person to show you a list of SIGs. This will give you a good idea of how many different things there are where you can hang out with smart, intellectually curious people.

Please do not make the mistake of confusing "smart, intellectually curious" with "nerdy" in the sense that a "nerd" is an oddball person who is socially inept. First, Mensans are not necessarily nerds. Second, being smart and intellectually curious makes you MORE interesting not less. People are socially inept not because they are smart, but for other reasons that being nice to them can often overcome.

As for nerdiness, I have short anecdote to close with. At one time, I was Chair of the Computer Society, Kansas City Section. We held two dinner meetings per year, and these were open to everybody. I was speaking with an attendee when someone we hadn't seen before walked up and asked, "Excuse me. Where is the nerd section?" My conversation partner smiled and said, "You're in it."

4. Finance tip

Remember what things cost before the coup, and how much they have gone up since the coup? For most middle-class Americans, living in this country is no longer affordable. You know what to do in November, but what about in the time remaining before then? Talk to people about the cost of things. Ask them what they think the cause is.

If they don't blame Brainless and/or the communists, ask them if they can explain why in the four years before the coup prices were pretty stable. Then listen. If they get the answer wrong, don't argue. An echo chamber person can't be reasoned with (it's all about their identity with the "Democrats"). All you can do is make the subject percolate up into his or her consciousness. If the person's mind starts ruminating on this and the person sees high prices everywhere, then cognitive dissonance will set in. At that point, the person may simply decide not to vote (thinking, "Well at least I didn't vote FOR Trump. There just wasn't anybody on the ticket.")

5. Security tip

If she were alive today, Riley Lakin would suggest that we secure our southern border. But because that border is not secure, she is not alive today. She and thousands of others have been victims of violent crimes committed by repeat offenders who are not only here illegally, but have been allowed to stay despite repeatedly committing acts of violence against citizens of this country.

During this time, Cackling Kamala (CK) has been our "Border Czar". Even as of late July, she has yet to meet with the head of border security. That only partially explains her utter failure at the only job Brainless gave her. And of course, the devastation is far greater than terrifying violence (rape, murder, near murder) committed by illegal aliens against citizens of this country. For Exhibit A there, one need not look further than the awful consequences of so much Fentanyl coming across that border.

It's not just USA citizens who are suffering. For decades, Mexico had long had a tight, secure southern border of its own. But since Brainless made CK his Border Czar, Mexico has been over-run by criminals breaching its southern border in a bid to use Mexico as a conduit to the USA since there is effectively no barrier to the north.

Can you guess what this issue's security tip is?

The single best thing you can do for the security of your home, neighborhood, city, county, state, and country is to make sure CK does not return to the White House. The communists might do that for us, by slipping in Big Mike or someone else at the last minute (rather than holding a convention to elect such a person, and these are the people who say Trump is "a threat to our Democracy" even though they can't be bothered to do things democratically). But then again, they might not. Just as Obama was a C- student who couldn't speak without a teleprompter and Biden was so stupid he can't speak with one, CJ is so stupid she's known for her "word salads". She's what they call "a useful idiot."

Here's a parody ad that speaks truth to stupidity:
https://x.com/i/status/1816826660089733492 (1:52)

Other than conning her way through school (pay your fee, get your B), CK has zero accomplishments on her record. She does have an impressively long list of abject failures, goofs, and screw-ups. She may not be useful, but she surely qualifies for the idiot part. She has no political prospects on her own, having come in dead last in the 2020 Democrat Primary.

She recently accused JD Vance of not caring about America. He served in the Marine Corps, and after that started a business that created jobs for Americans. After completing school, CK got a government job and has been living on a government paycheck ever since. Now, there's nothing inherently wrong with working for the government. But I think you get the point.

How can you stop CK? People obviously don't want her. But they obviously didn't want Brainless in his first three runs for POTUS. He was soundly rejected each time in the Primaries. But in 2020, the "Democrats" decided democracy was not a good thing and despite the fact Biden came in a distant fourth they put him on the ticket. And if not for rampant cheating (not debatable at this point), an 11th hour, excuse me, 13th hour (after the polls closed) such as a flood of mail-in ballots in the battleground states turned Trump's landslide victory into a "win" for Biden. That was a coup.

This cheating is what we need to prevent, to the extent possible. Many election integrity reforms have been passed since the coup. But another "pandemic" is most likely being planned, and that's not mere speculation because the communists have been chattering about it. If one is announced, we need to defy any of the stupid and ineffective rules that were imposed last time. Covid's overall mortality rate was less than 1/10th of 1%. If you exclude those with comorbidities, nobody died from it. The PCR test has an 80% false positive rate, so gunshot wound to the head and you died of Covid.

We need to put pressure on election officials now. Just go to your county's website and find the election commission. Then write a nice e-mail to each member and follow up with (this really works) a paper letter. If possible, make an in-person visit.

Thanks for helping to save this country.

See all of my climbing videos here: https://tinyurl.com/ClimbingSigChannel. Some cool climbing  videos:

My hardest climb ever, a 5.11d on lead: https://youtu.be/UT5h0heUUBc . I made a dumb mistake initially, letting the rope wrap over my shoulder. Watch what happens.

The scale:

  • Beginner: 5.6. 5.7. 5.8, 5.9
  • Intermediate: 5.10a, b, c, d 5.11a, b, c, d
  • Advanced: 5.12a, b, c, d 5.13a, b, c, d. Almost nobody climbs at this level at any of the 5 local climbing gyms.

Recently, I was showing some other athletes what I do to train shoulders. They were surprised at the sheer number of exercises and also how many sets I do. One reason for a variety of exercises is to hit the muscle from different angles, but another reason is to crank up the volume. That reason is also why I do so many sets. This isn't something I made up, it's got a proven track record in the natural bodybuilding world. The steroid users (who have, as a consequence of using such drugs, testosterone that is 20X or more the value of the high end of normal) do five or more sets.

But why does volume help? Why do sets to get it, why not just do more reps per set? And doesn't all that volume needlessly suck down your time?

Before we answer those questions, let's review some basics. Muscular hypertrophy (which for a normal person not using steroids is not much more than muscle maintenance) depends on triggering the adaptive response. That response is triggered by:

  • Cellular damage. You get this with intensity.
  • Time under tension. You get this with reps, provided the tension is adequate.
  • Metabolic stress. You get this past the "adequate" point with sets, provided there's enough load on your system to put it into stress.

It's also worth noting that athletes who fear becoming muscle-bound if they use this kind of training have nothing to fear. First, if you use the full range of motion you are actually more limber rather than less. Second, you aren't going to look like Phil Heath or any of those other Mr. Olympia types unless you lay out serious cash for anabolic steroids. When people start telling me they are afraid they'll get too big, I just say take a look at Usain Bolt. He's got, in my opinion, an ideal physique. He trains with insane intensity and similarly insane volume.

How volume helps

If you do 8 reps for 4 sets, that's 32 reps total. That's a lot of muscular contraction. It pumps out cellular waste, exercises the lymph system, and pushes a lot of oxygenated blood through your brain. Those are all wonderful benefits. You cannot get them doing a one-rep max routine.

But if you are training correctly, your reps per set will vary. If you can consistently do 8 reps per set with the same weight for the same exercise, then you are adapting to rep numbers instead of pushing yourself to failure. It is important to note, and many disagree with me, that counting reps when doing large compound (multiple joint) exercises such as squats, deadlifts, and bench presses is a good thing. It's very dangerous to take those to failure. But with isolation exercises such as calf raises and biceps curls, go to failure. The in-between types of movements such as lat pulldowns, pull-ups, flyes, and overhead presses, can also be done to failure because failing doesn't put you in a dangerous position. Use the large compound movements to generate metabolic stress, and always do them at the beginning of your session not at the end.

Volume also stimulates your body to increase both your oxygen usage efficiency and your blood distribution capacity. Capillarization is one effect of this that is readily visible among serious bodybuilders.

Sets, not reps

Here's an experiment. Pick up a weight that's 1/4 of what you normally use for biceps curls and crank out 32 reps. You've just spent most of that time in low-intensity movement, gotten little cellular damage, and failed to get adequate tension for time under tension to matter. All you got was volume.

Use your normal weight, and do a set. Wait 45 seconds and do a second set. Repeat, and repeat again. Now you've done four sets with intensity and by dint of that many sets, you got the same volume as doing the 32 reps.

Note that I don't wait 45 seconds between sets. Instead, I combine exercises into combos that are called "super sets". So I do a set of narrow grip lat pulldowns, then immediately do a set of Arnold curls, then immediately repeat this sequence three times. This not only cuts your total workout time by close to half, it hugely boosts your metabolic stress. By combining these two particular exercises, I come into the curls with biceps already a bit depleted so I must use less weight. I use less weight to get the same intensity, thus sparing my joints and ligaments the wear and tear from using more weight as would be the case if not supersetting.

Time-efficiency

Serious lifters break their training up over five to six days. I use six. Yeah, I climb on my "rest day" which is something some of my climbing buddies also do and we joke about "resting up". Climbing hits the core really hard and leaves us feeling exhausted so it's certainly not rest.

One day is always leg day. If you do legs correctly, you can't do much else. Legs take a long time to recover. So you do them once a week (or less). Your arms recover very quickly, and if you are young enough you could train them three days per week even if you are doing intense sessions with high volume. I have three upper body workouts: back and biceps, chest and triceps, and shoulders. I do them in that order. So if I do legs on Monday, Tuesday will be back and biceps, Wednesday will be chest and triceps, Thursday will be shoulders, Friday is set aside for more of a yoga kind of thing, Saturday would be back and biceps again. I climb on Sundays. Then leg day again on Monday. But look what happens on Tuesday. Now it's chest and triceps. The rotation continues.

Each session takes me less than 30 minutes. One reason why is I superset the whole time and simply do not rest between sets until I am so metabolically stressed I need to pace or stretch for 20 seconds to catch my breath.

Conclusion

You can look like you spend all day in the gym without actually doing so. One secret is to work hard in each set so you are using good form and getting that hard squeeze, then repeat that for three more sets. Don't rest, because then your metabolic stress goes away. Keep your body in a high state of metabolic stress, and it will adapt.

At www.supplecity.com, you'll find plenty of informative, authoritative articles on maintaining a lean, strong physique. It has nothing to do with long workouts or impossible to maintain diets. In fact:
  • The best workouts are short and intense.
  • A good diet contains far more flavors and satisfaction than the typical American diet.

7. Factoid

The body can process only so much protein at a time, and it cannot store protein. So excess protein is converted to glucose, which then gets stored as fat. The idea that you can "lose weight" by simply adding protein bars or protein powders to your diet is nonsense.

8. Thought for the Day

One key to outstanding physical health is "don't poison yourself." This is the single best thing you can do. Think of the poisons you may ingest (processed foods), inhale (fragrances), or intake through your skin (ingredients in shampoos, handwashes, etc.). Then get those out of your life.
